Has anyone here ever been threatened on Free Republic?

I guess I have this dubious honor now. I would have never known about it, until LSK suggested in another thread doing an advanced Google search for your own name, and restricting the results to freerepublic.com. Doing so for my name revealed this nice little gem:

I suppose I should feel flattered that somehow, despite the fact that I rarely frequent their site and have never posted there, that I've managed to piss off a few freepers.

But, I was not threatened. I was just included on a list of bad unamerican types...

That was when that outspoken Scottish MP George Galloway was testifying before the Senate and ripping Norm Coleman a new one. Somebody here on DU made a comment that we should offer him honorary American citizenship, and my bad and unAmerican response to that was, "would he even want it?"

I did get a call at home a few weeks back (late at night) regarding an anti-Bush letter to the editor I had published, but I hung up before I got threatened.

It was a bit disconcerting because I had written much more strongly worded letters before that made it into print (including one calling out Republicans for appeasing tyrants and terrorists throughout their history where I even mentioned Prescott Bush's connections to the Nazis)

But, the person called and asked if I was the one that wrote the letter and wanted to know if I knew the real Jim Webb (I had written in response to George Will's article on Webb...) I just said I didn't have time for that and hung up. I probably should have asked if they knew the real George Bush.
