Catch Phrases
Time to pick some of these 'forlorn' phrases apart..

WAR ON TERROR:
You cannot fight a war on ideology. Terror emerges from desperation, poverty and hopelessness. Fight those problems and you can set your 'soldiers' down to do soldier related duties.

WAR IN IRAQ:
There is no war in Iraq between us and the people. There never has been. We basically 'walked' into Iraq, shooting at anything that moved... while bombing everything we could find to bomb. The resistance was so small, you needed a magnifying glass to find it. War takes 2 sides. In Iraq, there are THREE sides... two of which are fighting with each other in a civil war and the 3rd, standing by, trying to determine who and what the enemy is. It looks like, if it's an Iraqi... shoot! Not a war, just a misguided and mismanaged police action with no direction and no compass to consult.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS:
To really support our troops, we must bring them home! ... and right now... Each day they stay there, more continue to be cannon fodder for the real warring factions of the country, and more die. What kind of support is it, to provide 'targets' for the enemy to shoot at.

FIGHT THEM THERE OR FIGHT THEM HERE:
Huh? One of the most ridiculous of all the catch phrases. First of all, no one from Iraq was bothering us, when we invaded their country. Now, thanks to the inept and utter arrogance of our leaders, we have created a 'monster'. I assure you, those that wish to do us harm are already here and feel plenty of provocation to attack us right here, when the time is right. If we leave, frankly I cannot see a steady flow of these people... rushing into the U.S.... These people and their country are so destroyed, in both spirit and body, they can't even make it to their own homes. This is so ridiculous, further words escape me right now.

SERVING OUR COUNTRY:
What is this? These soldiers are serving their president!! They are doing thier 'job'!. *I* didn't ask for this to happen and *I* am a citizen of this country. This is NOT IN MY NAME. I see no honor in this, only complete disdain and disgust.

HEROES:
Heroes? What is heroic about shooting people, innocents, where they stand, where they live, in their cars.. as they walk in the streets. Sorry, this one 'gags' me! These are men, misguided as they may be, KILLING MACHINES, doing their jobs.

NEW WAY FORWARD:
One cannot go forward until one looks backward, grasping what got us to the point we are currently at. One really good look would make the path forward... GET HOME NOW!

The ability to reduce every issue to a simplistic catchphrase or talking point, and then get the corporate propaganda merchants in the MSM to disseminate them, is one of the GOP's greatest strengths - and one of the greatest dangers they pose to freedom and democracy in America.
