20. While protesting the war in 2004
some fraternity guys, definitely young repugs, stopped their fancy cars, got out and stood across the street shouting at us. My favorite insult from them was "they should send you to Iraq."

Not one to keep my mouth shut, even though we were suppose to, I calmly looked at them and said - "Why? We don't want the war, you do. If anyone should go, it should be you. If you believe in this war, you should be fighting it."

Their jaws dropped because they were use to the silent type of pacifists. They got back in their cars and drove away without another word.

7. "the test itself would not likely occur until 2009."-you should read the whole thing
<snip>
Selective Service "is planning a comprehensive test of the military draft machinery, which hasn't been run since 1998," writes Kasie Hunt. "The agency is not gearing up for a draft," an agency official told Hunt, and "the test itself would not likely occur until 2009."

18. George Washington Wrote in 1783
George Washington wrote in 1783 that, “It may be laid down as a primary position, and basis of our system that every Citizen that enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a portion of his property, but even of his personal service to the defense of it…”
National service helps people become more involved in civic society. It never hurts to become a better citizen. Besides, living in a democracy does not make life a gravy train. Free countries have the highest dues to pay, sometimes!

19. How is the war in Iraq in the defense of this country?
I am sure if the US was invaded most citizens would gladly fight for the country.
