1. Bush plan: Sleep well, send more troops?
Bush plan: Sleep well, send more troops?

George W. Bush tells People magazine: "I must tell you, I'm sleeping a lot better than people would assume."

We're glad to hear it. A man's got to get his rest, especially when he's got a busy day like today's ahead of him.

Go back to bed, Mr. President.

we really are.

It's like sending a message to the world, hi, the best time to attack us is between 12 -6 AM everyday and the entire month of August.

12. Surging into the Abyss
Surging in the wrong country at this time will make the U.S. more vulnerable in the coming years. Ignoring Afghanistan will take that country back to where it was before 9/11 while the cycle of surges and insurgencies in Iraq will further limit our ability to respond to Afghanistan. What should Washington do: Surge in Afghanistan if you surge anywhere, and as for Iraq, focus first on a political roadmap.

3. He's a walking pharmacy..
I've been saying for a while that he must have a pharmacist following him around with a suitcase full of pills just to keep him half-way functional.

4. It don't weigh on Chimpy's conscience.
You have to HAVE a conscience before something can weight it down. As long as he feels assured HE won't be waking up in the quagmire of his making, he can snooze just fine. :boring:

7. I heard everyone in Washington DC takes Ambien
At least, that's what I've been hearing for years...

Heck, since Bush took office, I haven't slept well - maybe I should take Ambien!

(except for the sleep grazing, that's not too cool of a side effect)

9. Bush
Bush has always been on medication. He's a recovering alcoholic so his doctor has prescribed him lots of stuff.

This is also why he needs to ride his mountain bike at least an hour a day. He has a lot of addictive personality issues.

GW Bush:
A Surreal Sleepwalker with Little Right to Wield Power

by Hugo Young

January 18, 2001

The serenity in which this surreal presidency begins is deceptive. Every mistake Bush makes will excite the same questions: who exactly is this man, and by what right is he there? The rituals of succession can take him to the White House, but provide no bulwark against the doubts that surround his locus, which he refuses, so far, to do anything to appease. The media, the Congress, many of the people, all conspire to make him seem as real as Ike or Reagan. But this can't last. Unless he finds a way to recognise the uniquely narrow limits of his victory, his presidency will unravel and Dubya will eventually be doomed.
