I just watched a 1961 episode of The Twilight Zone - "It's a Good Life"
It was about this six-year-old kid named Anthony who lived in a town called Peaksville.

He would send anyone and anything who angered him or disagreed with him to "the cornfield".
So the remaining residents spent most of their time playing up to him, telling him how wonderful he was and asking him just what they could do next.

"You done a good thing, Anthony".
"What a fine idea, Anthony".
"What do you want us to do now, Anthony?".

It was eerily reminiscent of something or someone.

But I just cannot put my finger on it.

Maybe it will come to me.

2. I love that episode
It really is a star studded episode and yes, I seem to see a similarity to someone myself.

4. That's one of my favorite TZ episodes
It's a satire on dictatorship and/or totalitarianism, I think.

5. Also had Cloris Leachman
and was part of the 1983 Film.

Bill Mumy plays a teenager who threatens Anthony in the video arcade.

Funny that comparison...

8. Phew!
I feared for a moment that this might be an attack on the present occupant of the White House, but DU has once again stood aloof from such partisanship.

After all, when Anthony willed things to happen, they happened: if he willed a flower-strewn procession through adoring subjects, he'd get one rather then having to be smuggled around his little world under maximum security.

And when he punished his underlings they found themselves in the hell he'd designated for them, not freed into the fresh air of the real world among others who'd broken the spell.

So it can't possibly be a comparison to the glorious war Pres! What a relief! :D
