Tonight in Jackson, MS - Armed robber beaten into submission with his own gun.
Hell yeah. Kudos to the would-be victim for beating the shit out of this piece of scum. You can't even travel into west Jackson anymore because there's so much violent crime there. The Jackson Zoo is in the area where this happened tonight--I used to take my son to visit when he was little, but I wouldn't dare venture there today. At least there's one less armed robber out there tonight.

Alleged robber hospitalized after being beaten with gun

An attempted armed robbery did not go as planned tonight in west Jackson.

Timothy Jones, 37, of Jackson, allegedly tried to rob an man at gunpoint about 6:45 p.m. at the Chuk Stop Food Mart, 3165 Robinson St., said Jackson Police spokesman Sgt. Jeffery Scott.

But instead of handing over his wallet, the man grabbed the handgun Jones was allegedly brandishing, and beat him with it, Scott said.

Jones was hospitalized at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for severe head trauma, Scott said.

“Timothy Jones will be charged with armed robbery of an individual,” Scott said. “No charges are expected to be filed on the would-be victim.”

Scott would not identify the would-be victim, but said he was uninjured.

2. yet another reason why we need more guns in our society
if the gun control nuts had their way, this crook might not have had a gun to get beaten up with.

3. Next time he'll use a toy rubber gun, foam rubber
just so it won't hurt as much when he gets his ass beat with it again!

6. Cool!
Reminds me of the lady here in Harrison County who killed the man that was attacking her elderly husband. That just happened a couple of months ago.

Beating someone with a loaded pistol is really dangerous.

8. Somehow, I could see this winding up on Judge Judy
Jones sues his victim for his injuries, telling the judge, "Yeah, I was trying to rob him, and he took my gun and beat me up! I demand he pay for my medical bills!" Hey, things almost as stupid have wound up on her show.

9. well, since the attacker was technically unarmed when he was being beaten...
Edited on Fri Dec-22-06 11:54 PM by progdonkey
The would-be assailant was no longer a threat to the victim--excuse me, alleged victim--who simply took out his rage on a now unarmed and defenseless person who posed no threat to him. :silly:

12. There's a lot of poverty around Jackson, "white flight" is making it worse.
The poorer communities, as a result, fall deeper into poverty without the revenues circulating from wealthier neighborhoods. Crime becomes the easy way out. Economic segregation is real.
