Fox News Ratings Tumble In October, November
Click here for more.

<snip>

Fox executives have spun that its ratings decline is the result of a slow news year. I suppose that's true, if you equate "slow news year" with "lack of happy stories for conservatives."

Fox News still has the inside track on covering "culture war" topics like the "War on Christmas," and the "controversy" surrounding the recent children's movie Happy Feet.

But it appears less and less people are interested in such things. Fox News is still on top, but the tide appears to be turning.

1. Well, O'Reilly talking about falafels and cupcakes getting people pregnant...
Mind you, I've not read the transcript or heard his voice for the inflection (I suppose there's a slight chance he's as much absurdly sarcastic as he is anything else?), but viewers will turn off shows if they get too ridiculous.

That's why I stopped watching the new series of "Doctor Who", it's just as trifling. :)

8. it's typical of conservatives
when caught with your pants down, say anything to provide "the other side of the story."

rachel maddow disucssed this the other day, that you have crazy talk and you have the mainstream. she was making the point that democrats like harry reid shouldn't feel compelled to split the difference. instead, they should treat crazy talk like crazy talk, and dismiss it.
