Castro Castro Castro can anyone give me a hand.
I am happy to be back on the boards after my last deplyoment BTW. But now as I sit here trying to enjoy my holiday leave period, I have to worry about if Castro is going to die before Jan 8. If he does I may have to loose my leave and get underway. Anyone have any inside info, I know i can count on hearing it here first.

1. Welcome back sailor
enjoy stand down

He was absent at the closing of the Cuban assembly, but all it's quiet SO FAR.

If this is anything like the Kremlin it will be sudden though should not be shocking

Enjoy standown

3. Trust me, as a wife of a retired USN Chief
bubble head I do understand

We were just lucky... as in the ammount of aniversaries we got to spend together... but we knew it was highly unusual, and they are on the 20th of this month.

So just enjoy it

4. Yeah its getting alot harder these days
the days of the regular scked deployment are over, "surge" and "ready duty ship" are the buzzwords now.

5. I don't understand why Castro would be enough to mobilize you
It's a really little island
with no military to speak of

But They really train a whole lot of great doctors
Is the American Medical Association
part of the Joint chiefs now?

Better focus on the Persian Gulf right now
that's where your mobilization will come from

6. Nahh they will take the ships off of
the HOA and the Med to go to the Gulf. We would probably be helping out the coasties with some sort of mass migration.

15. Hmm given some of the thinsg I saw as a Navy Wife
or as I like to call it my other life before marriage, I will respectfully disagree...

I have seen USN ships break Time Distance records in crisis that would make you go... WTF? Why are they leaving port?

17. out of 20 and some months in the Navy
he did eighteen and a half at sea... ah the joys of being an A-Nav, (assistant Navigator for land lovers)

They offered him Master if he staid, but alas no shore duty... anywhere... he had it.

Took quite a bit for them not to forcibly extend him.

It helps to be in good terms with your local Senator, and I am not shitting you on that one.

21. Well, we have disagreed before
Mexico comes to mind

But, also respectfully,
I'm positive Bush and Cheney will attack Iran
before the dem congress convenes
They are backed into a corner
and need a diversion
and they don;t care who or how many they kill

if that happens
All bets are off

No telling what will happen

23. Oh I do expect Iran to ahem
have an incident, it is just the things I have seen Navy ships break out of port that tell me, if he dies... I can bet whatever is left in the Eastern Sea board will be going.

Does not matter what you think will happen, but what the "reality" our fearless leader thinks will happen

We don't need another bloody, disgusting, illegal, immoral invasion.

26. Correct
And Cuba has other friends. The regime will remain as loyal to Raul as to Fidel. The US will then have to choose whether to destabilise a future post-Castro setup and alienate another generation, or to grow up and show Cubans that it represents something other than a predatory bully.

28. Welcome back, Sailor, and enjoy your leave. Don't worry, they're having Fidel STUFFED
and including with a DVD inside that will deliver six hour harangues. Just how other humans need to spend their existential span of life.
