Blame the Dame Game - why the GOP will keep losing (for now)
So the parlor game in DC - esp per the loss of the Senate isn't about the public being fed up with the GOP; it isn't about disgust with the entitlement/corruption culture in the GOP senate; It isn't about the drag the Pres. has become on the party; It isn't about the antipathy the public feels towards the bushco Iraq war. No, it is about blaming Sen. Dole, head of the republican senate election committee. Even Mehlman, of the "We are Brand W Republicans" advice to GOP candidats fame, is part of the Blame the Dame Game.

A regular circular firing squad that quite frankly misses the point - and suggests (as do bush's own actions since the election) that these fools will keep making the same gross mistakes per the public's sentiments. Hey GOPers... Dole raised less money than Schumer... not because she was inept, but because they were sick (and frankly growing frightened) of continued GOP rule and lack of Bushco oversight. They were not thrilled with learning about NSA spying, and CIA black ops prisons, they were not thrilled with the GOP in congress poising to pass legislation to legitamize these practices rather than act as a coequal branch of govt, they were not thrilled with the GOP shrill shrieks from Congress that the problem wasn't the programs - but that they programs were leaked to the press - telling the public time and time again to, in Cheney's words, "Go F*** Yourself".

Guess it is easier to play Blame the Dame Game, than to rethink callow actions nor take responsibility for one's own role in what will most probably become to be known as a nefarious point in US history. So keep doing as you always do - take the easy way out. Just don't expect the voting public to follow you there. After the public finally got a peek through the window you tried to keep draped... the public was pretty disgusted with the view per the future. Indeed - go on, keep playing the Blame the Dame Game - stay occupied with that... so long as that preoccupies you from damaging our future any further.
