Bloody George: In Search of Peace with Cindy Sheehan

Bloody George
In Search of Peace
with Cindy Sheehan

As Christians all around the world are preparing to celebrate the birth of the “Prince of Peace,” Bloody George has been seeking what has been called “advice” on sending upwards of 30,000 more troops to Iraq , but what should more truly be called, “covering his hiney.” Bloody George is spending the birth of the Prince of Peace trying to discover, against all credible and moral opinion, how he can escalate the violence and killing in Iraq .

His Iraq policies were disordered from the very beginning of the invasion---delusional, at best, when he declared victory on May 1, 2003---and now as even previous reich-wing war supporters are recognizing, his new course of action is demented and he is grasping at crazy straws in his quest to somehow "solve" the horrific problem that he is responsible for.

While watching the talking heads analyze, re-analyze, speculate and pontificate, pro or con sending a “surge” of troops to Iraq , I have not heard even one voice question or lament what havoc such a surge of troops would have on the already obliterated and heavily oppressed population of Iraq. Reality based thinkers can already predict that a surge of troops would increase American losses proportionally, but what about the incredibly unfortunate innocent citizens of Iraq ? The innocents who haven’t been killed yet, or don’t have the means to flee the country as millions of them have already done? What will their fates be when the violence increases as the troop levels increase? With 87% of the Iraqi people in favor of a total US and coalition withdrawal and with almost zero support for the marionette controlled Iraqi government, we all know that the wishes of the people we are “liberating” and “democratizing” matter little to the ones in our country who would lose a little of their mammon with the withdrawal of US troops.

I receive a weekly call from Jordan from the colleague of an Iraqi parliamentarian. I speak to “Mohammed” occasionally, but he speaks little English. His associate, and translator, tells me that it is conventional wisdom in Iraq what this troop surge means. The already terrorized citizens of Baghdad will be further devastated by this surge that will reinforce the Sunni resistance to allegedly fight the Shi’a militias, but in the process will level Baghdad as the cities of Fallujah, Ramadi, Samara, and Babylon have already been flattened. Humanity should be asking one very basic question: Why aren’t Bloody BushCo sitting in a prison cell next to Saddam? They could all amuse themselves with tales of using chemical weapons against Iraqi civilians and how fun and profitable waging wars of terror are!

Historically, and logically, I can guarantee that the carnage will only worsen if more troops are sent. Another question that is begging to be asked and answered is: where are these “fresh” troops coming from. Many of our precious soldiers are already on their fourth tours of duty and spending up to 18 months the Hell hole that Bloody BushCo has created. I read a quote where Bloody George says that the military needs to be “reset.” Reset! I always thought that he viewed his flesh and blood assets as toy GI Joes to be discarded on the garbage heap when he was tired of playing Commander in Chief with them, but now I believe that he thinks that our military is a fantastical computer game that he can re-boot or trash when the program gets stuck! Well, Bloody George, I have news for you: “control, alt, delete,” is not going to work this time. Our troops are tired and they are tired of you using them as pawns in your evil game of world domination.

In his press conference this past week, Bloody George, again, told us to go shopping. Shopping fixes everything in this country: from being despondent over terrorist attacks to being despondent over body bags coming home from a war that never should have been waged. Really, what is wrong with this man? There are tens of thousands of people in this country worried that one of their Christmas “gifts” from Bloody George will be a knock on the door informing them that their child has been killed for his lies and greed and their Christmas celebrations will be ruined forever. There are over 3000 of us who already received this abhorrent surprise from Bloody BushCo and thousands who will be suffering through another Christmas without an arm, leg, eye, or soul because the Bloody Game Player sent them off to a phony war without the proper equipment or support.

Seventy percent of Americans know that this occupation is wrong and believe our troops should be coming home within the next six months. Only twelve percent (of these, I am confident that the majority all have a Manger scene somewhere in their homes with a beaming porcelain Mary and Joseph adoring their beatific baby, Jesus), agree that a surge of troops is just what the Bloody Doctor ordered for Iraq. Where are these 70%? Borrowing a scene from The Prince of Peace’s passion play, 33 years after his miraculous birth, all of his supporters, except his adoring mother and two other women would abandon him. We must not continue this abandonment of the people of Iraq and our own troops. We Americans need to come out of the shopping malls that along with TV have become our new Roman circuses to divert us from the murder and corruption of our mis-leadership.

We must be the voices of the people of Iraq and our soldiers who are voice-less. We must leave our comfort zones before they force our children to fight their Bloody Wars. Warnik or peacenik: if Bloody George says that the draft is not an option, you can trust that it most certainly is! Ask yourself: What does Bloody George have to lose? Absolutely nothing! He and his Bloody Buddies have everything to gain.

We are convening at Camp Casey in Crawford this week, because Bloody George will be there at the Flying Photo-Op Ranch . On December 26th, we will be holding a candlelight vigil for the almost 3000 soldiers that have been needlessly and sorrowfully killed for Bloody George’s lies. Then on Thursday, when the Bloody Gang is at the ranch plotting further bloodbaths, Camp Casey will begin an escalated "Peace Surge" in ramped up efforts to stop them before they can “reset” their bizarre and gore-soaked policies that will only make 2007 bloodier than 2006.

Hasn’t there been enough shed blood in The Prince of Peace’s name? In our names? Haven’t you had enough?

I know I have.

In Search of Peace is a series of reflections on Cindy's journey towards peace.
