Message from the "lib'rul media" about giving...
...and who really has compassion.

Mobile Press-Register

excerpt: "Conservatives may not be nearly as greedy as they look to some liberals. Arthur C. Brooks, a professor of public administration at Syracuse University and the author of "Who Really Cares: Who Gives, Who Doesn't and Why It Matters," says his research shows conservatives give more time and money to charity than liberals."

Does it really say anything about who gives...or just who claims it?

while liberals give more to the poor, homeless, etc.

I'm totally just assuming here. I'm sure theres something to back up what I said, but hell, it's christmas day and I don't feel like looking for it.

2. I suspect you are right
The article is mostly BS. Conservatives give to charity for the tax write-off. There is no such thing a "compassionate conservatism". IMHO, conservatism by definition is not compassionate.

Forgive me for the bumper sticker one-liner but "compassionate conservative" is like friendly fascism.

Though I do know one republican (they're really moderate though) lady who has committed the cardinal sins of a) being a vegetarian (a vegan at that...and uses all natural home cleaners and stuff) and b) helping poor people.

5. this is where bush comes from....
plain ordinary common sense tells you that 'liberals' and lefties are, by design, more generous and compassionate to those less fortunate - isn't that why we're 'tree huggers' and 'bleeding hearts', against death penalty and for social services? Yet we're in fact less generous charity wise then 'conservatives'! If this is so, then we are the conservatives, and bush etc are liberals- black=white, right=wrong, up=down and so on...alice in wonderland stuff.
This is where bush came from, his criminal regime. The prof who trying to sell this snake oil is a terrorist, and 'enemy combatant' who needs to be huunted down like a dog....

6. Subtract the "Lifestyles of the Rich Preachers" and see what's left

for the poor, with empty bellies & outstretched hands. :grr:

Receipts to churches are easy to track and count. What actually gets to the people is harder to track, since it's sifted through so many layers of administrative "services".

The mega-churches are little more than a powerful propaganda tool/pyramid scheme.
