Doro Bush on why Junior doesn't consult Poppy
I happened on Faux News and sister Doro was on with Brit Hume. He asked why Preznit Junior doesn't confer with Poppy. She said she asked him that question for her book and he told her that he has lots of advisors, but only one dad, and he needs Poppy to be a dad, and also, that Poppy doesn't receive the intelligence briefings his advisors do, so…

Hmmmmm. Seems that could be arranged if he so desired.

1. That is a LOAD OF CRAP.
I distinctly remember that Poppy is a voracious reader of intelligence and has fully exercised his right to be privy to Presidential Daily Briefings just as the sitting President is. Don't ask me who came up with that right but, this ex-President has apparently taken advantage of it, and this is NOT some sort of dark secret - it has been reported on without any sense of secrecy or restraint. No, Poppy doesn't get the same briefings Bush's advisors do - he gets the same briefings Bush himself gets!

4. I have no doubt that Poppy told the Dimwit not to Invade
Iraq. Dimwit ignored the advice and now doesn't listen to Poppy or anyone else except those that promise
"victory" in Iraq. Doro is like the rest of that Clan, a liar.

7. Full family court press this weekend to change
the perception that * is a callous fool. Pickles on Schieffer's Face the Nation, Poppy and Bar on This Weak, and little sister (who NEVER speaks to media) shows up on Fox. If the markets weren't closed we'd have gotten Neil on Bloomberg.

And the "working vacation" again. The most work this dumbfuck does in Crawford that isn't staged for the media is cracking open another beer.

I'm so sick of fucking Bushes on television (on a weekend when I mostly avoided watching TV).

16. "Bushes on television"
This a.m., it was Barney and Karl Rove who were the "news" on one of the morning shows. I shut off the set.

3. Very dumb explanation
Kissenger doesn't get intelligence briefings, yet Bush has no problem consulting him. And, as a former Prez and CIA director, I think 41 is pretty much cleared to get any intelligence briefing under the sun that he wants.

6. I've always thought there was something wrong in the head with Doro.
When Poppy was Prez, I can remember her behaving like a 12 year old child.

She strikes me as not the brightest bulb on the tree.

'Course, with those genes, the fact that she can even talk is pretty miraculous.

9. She joined the crowd outside the VP's mansion
screaming at Al Gore to get out of Dick Cheney's house during the recount. Her mother was so proud.

13. I remember that.
Boy, that chapped my ass when I read Mrs. Quaker Oats Bush bragging about that disgraceful behavior.
These people have no manners, no class, no decorum. They are a waspy bunch of feces-flinging chimps who screech at anyone who bothers their sense of entitlement.

17. Yes, you can slap lipstick on a pig..but she's still a filthy trough-sucking pig.
She has her family's lazy sense of entitlement.

What's a few thousand dead children to her?

She has her place at the trough...and that's all she cares about.

10. Makes sense to me.
Taking advice that differs or turns out wrong could ruin a family relationship, especially when you're leader of the free world.

People in everyday life many times prefer their parents/family not providing advice for that very reason.

I'm not saying Bush's reason is the true reason. Maybe it's just an excuse. But if it is his real reason, it makes perfect sense.

12. i think this is different since we are talking about Presidents
it's not just any job or President. the number of people who have been President of the United States is so small that even if it was your dad you would make an exception.

not that pappy Bush is so great or that the Chimp would listen. but i mean just in general. so i think the explanation given is crap.

15. Sure. Bush listens to people who tell him what he wants to hear.
He's not gonna get that from his father, so he makes sure it's understood that he never, ever calls his father for advice on policy. Because Bush doesn't want to hear that from his father. Simple as that.

The idea that it's because the former President is uninformed is hogwash.
