U.S. deaths in Iraq exceed 9-11 count

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061226/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

I sense this is a subtle way to again try to link Iraq with 9/11, especially with comment within the article like this:

"Opponents of President Bush have criticized him for raising the attacks as a justification for the protracted fight in Iraq."

I would like to remind the wonderful media who helped push the lies of the so-called link between Iraq and 9/11, it is not opponents, it is reality that the invasion of Iraq was based on a LIE

1. They are constantly pulling that crap...
referring to Iraq as part of the "War on Terror" and allowing references to how the military is "defending America" by being there.

Total bullshit.

6. We should drop them a note or somethiing.
"In order to prevent you from embarassing yourself further, I thought you should know Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11. Have a nice day."

9. Egg zack lee
9-11 was;

Saudi Arabia
The U.A.E.
Paki intel
The Taliban
al Qaeda

& an administration that either knowingly or unknowingly allowed
the attacks to happen.

Every time bush said Iraq & 9/11 or Saddam & al Qaeda in the same sentence I have
wanted to scream.

bush on the Aircraft carrier aka Mission accomplished he said, "We have taken away
one place that was a base for al Qaeda." Rough Quote

Scott McClellen, after being asked about the # of a thousand U.S. troops that were K.I.A.
in Iraq ..... "That is a tragedy but it is also a tragedy about all those people who died
because of terrorism on 9/11 too." Rough Quote

History and the American people will judge bush & company harshly for starting the
Iraqi war by using the phony link between 9/11 and Iraq.

3. well, if reported responsibly, that comparsion is highly relevant
If one directly links the US deaths to LIES about why we are there, and then explained thusly:

EVEN IF Iraq were responsible for 9/11, which it isn't, we've lost more fighting men and women then were lost that day, so its a fool's errand for which we are are all paying the butcher's bill, not to mention the possibly 600,000 Iraqi civilians whose country is being occupied by an invading force who waged a war of naked aggression.

4. Well, it wasn't then, but it sort of is now
The Iraq invasion no doubt caused as much of the GWOT as it prosecuted, but we're certainly fighting foreign, al Qaeda-affiliated mujahedeen in Iraq. They're not Iraqi patriots; most Iraqis hate them more than they hate us. But, being well-armed, speaking Arabic and having local Sunni extremist allies, they are able to operate here regardless of what Iraqis want.

11. According to the Baker Hamilton report
Only about 1,500 al Qaeda in Iraq most of them Iraqi nationals.

less 3 % of all the fighters (not counting the U.S. and it's collation) in
Iraq foreign

The Saudis fund the Sunni fighters.

13. That is one way to look at it, but I tend to think it is more insidious
Why did they pick 9/11, and not mention that the push for going into Iraq was based on lies?

7. If NBC, CBS, and ABC were run by Edward R. Murrows, there would've been no Iraq War.
Because they would've called bullshit on Bush the second he tried to link Iraq to 9/11.

8. like in quantum physics, observing changes the facts!
agree with what you say, but the situation could never have gotten anywhere near where it was had integrity been present in the msn networks - so radical would the effect been that even the political forces would necessarily be vastly different...the american middle class has, in effect, been neutered since murrow's day! we've now matched the butcher's biLL from 9-11, and wiLd rage and revenge fantasies seem to be the onLy thing driving the remaining supporters of this war.

12. It's all so absurd.
It's a war of lies and nonsense.

A score of Saudi Arabians (funded by Bushco allies in SA and Pakistan) attacked America back in '01.

Now five years later, Bush's diversion into Iraq has notched up the same number of American casualties - in a country that had nothing to do with 9/11!
