What kind of man is this?

After listening to the daily death and injury toll in Iraq today (25 dead, 105 wounded), I do wonder what kind of man is the president of the United States. While bodies of Americans and Iraqis are being blown up and families torn apart, while advice from his own experts is being ignored amid the cries of the majority of Americans to end this senseless occupation, he remains steadfast in his 'surge' to continue the carnage.
What kind of man is this, that wouldn't be looking for a quick resolution to decrease the death and destruction? What normal human being wouldn't be looking for any and all means to stop the violence through any means necessary?
Instead, it seems that he has delayed any announcement of what his future intentions are in Iraq to try to find a way to convince us that we need to stay this bloody, disastrous course.
I ask you, what kind of man is this?

1. An ape man.
A tool, a loser, a failure, a sick joke of a man. Not even really a man at all, but an ape in a suit. A sick man. A damned man. He will be our face of shame for the next century.

4. The Presidential Prayer Team disagrees with you
Why, our Christ-Centered President is Gawd's Man according to the fools at http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org

by Greg Asimakoupoulos

The White House boasts a Christmas tree.
And near it there’s a Bush
whose roots reach deep because his job
is anything but cush.

He knows the stress of being shaped
by those with pruning shears.
He feels the frigid pelting sleet
of soldier families’ tears.

And still this Bush grows strong and tall
displaying shoots of life.
He’s nourished by his humble faith
and his committed wife.

While lights adorn the Douglas Fir,
this Christmas Bush is graced
by candor and integrity
that beautify like lace.

O God, please tend this fragile Bush
with all you know he needs.
May we find shelter in his shade
as prayerfully he leads.

Millions of lemmings still follow this fool...

9. BWAHAHAHAHA....sorry, but sometimes you just have to laugh at something
as patently absurd as that "poem".

A moment later, I'm sobered by the fact that there are still people out there who literally worship this maroon. MKJ

2. An insane man
whose behavior throughout his adult life should have been indication enough first to the Republican party and then to the US as a whole that he is unfit for office. The fact that the GOP machine got him into office twice makes me wonder what kind of people they are to foist this creature upon the nation.

3. So what should he do?
What makes you think the guys blowing up car bombs among the civilian population are going to stop doing that if the U.S. leaves? They're not doing it to hurt us; they're doing it to sow chaos so that they can win a war to reestablish Sunni (and particularly, Wahabbi Sunni) rule in Iraq.

7. For starters, get the US the hell out of there? Practice some diplomacy
for a change? Show he has a shred of true compassion, not just turn it on for a photo op? Realize it's not 'all about him'?

8. it will not cease, of course... these groups have been fighting for centuries
but there are two good reasons to leave:

a) We're a hostile occupying force that illegally attacked a sovereign nation and now occupy it against its will.

b) While the violence will not end, it will i) probably decrease, as the US military presence does nothing to instill calm; and, ii) it will not be at the hands of our military. Even though we created this quagmire, there's no reason we have to continue killing civilians.

18. Not disagreeing with your premise....
but some clearing up needs to be noted.

The 2 main sects apparently have not been fighting for centuries:

"Juan Cole, a well-known historian of the Middle East, has pointed out on his blog, Informed Comment, that the split between Sunni and Shiites in Iraq is of relatively recent origin:

I see a lot of pundits and politicians saying that Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq have been fighting for a millennium.

<snip>

The kind of sectarian fighting we're seeing now in Iraq is new in its scale and ferocity, and it was the Americans who unleashed it."

12. And your point is...what? That therefore more AMERICANS should die, also?
Edited on Tue Dec-26-06 08:32 AM by WinkyDink
Bush let loose the dogs of war, by his illegal invasion and continuing occupation in quest of OWNERSHIP of Iraqi resources.

That he and his ilk were FOOLS to roil up and then become ensnared in ancient enmities is NO EXCUSE to continue THEIR folly with OTHERS' lives.

Oh, and BTW: They DO want to kill us, as well. We are ILLEGAL OCCUPIERS who have committed WAR CRIMES.

6. call me crazy, but...
I view the motivation for GW Bush's actions as not human and very hostile. Whatever you want to call IT, the "voices" he hears leading him to make his "gut" decisions does not have humanity's best interests at heart.
