Quick - send a professional 'de-programmer' to the White House! Please!
Certainly there are a lot of professionals who have deprogrammed former "Moonies" and LaRouchites - among other cults. The signs are clear that Bush is delusional - and it appears that those closest too him (esp. Rove and Cheney) have been masterful at their convincing junior that:

a) the US has an endless money supply - and that there is no "cost" to obscene deficits - that there is no point in time his profligate spending will have to be paid for; that

b) God was involved in US electoral politics and "chose" him to lead (without believing that conversely God chose Clinton to beat Poppy ??); that

c) the 06 elections were not about the public sentiment against the war in Iraq - but instead about "wanting to see more bipartisan support" (from a NYT article, today) - this point suggests that he believes that only a single election (Lieberman) counted for the public sentiment - as that huge populous of Connecticut spoke more forcefully than the tiny electorate outside of Connecticut that ousted republican after republican; that

d) he is not bound by the Constitution - and is free to act as "The Decider;" that

e) the "lesson" from Vietnam was that 35,000 servicemens' and womens' deaths were not enough - that the lesson was that more should have been sent in order not to ever leave - just not the TANG - or at least not the TANG until he went AWOL to work on republican campaigns and party; that

f) the US should outsource more - as he touted all of the possibilities during his trip to India earlier this year... including... medical treatments; that

g) the reason most American's are gloomy about the US economy is a media conspiracy, rather than that most people (except his "have more" base) are experiencing more economic uncertainty than they have in decades.

The list can go on and on. (Please add more indications of delusional thinking in need of deprogramming)

So how do you get in the front door? Pose as a hunky, GOP Operative who has worked... er... servicing top GOPers who is in need of press credentials in order to throw staged, friendly questions to the Pres. during press conferences. There has been a vacancy in this slot for a bit more than a year. How to get access to the president after pitching ego pleasing questions to the president during televised press conferences? Feed his ego, give him a quickly thrown together "plan for Iraq" which praises his policies and purports to support his policy while allowing him to claim to have "a new direction". (Feel free to add other avenues of ego stroking that could get an eventual private sitting with the Junior.)

Why is this needed? See point d - we have two more years with this 'under-delusions' leader who doesn't believe in, respect, or act as if there is a Constitution and Division of powers. Simply said - there are few recognized constraints on his and his admins actions that past presidents have worked under (that is - they recognized the Constitutional constraints, these folks don't.) It is too dangerous for this President to remain beholden to his cult-like delusions.

So Please, if your profession fits the bill, consider providing your services to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

PS Agent Mike - certainly this isn't any more controversial per posting about the President and his perceived delusions, than a caption standing on the Joe Scarborough show asking whether the president was defiant, or delusional... :hi:
