Army Reservist Fatally Shot In Stand-Off With Police...
a very sad residual effect of the war.

Leonardtown, Md. (AP) - A man who authorities believe was an Army Reservist just called up to serve in Iraq has been fatally shot by police in a standoff that began on Christmas.

St. Mary's County Sheriff Tim Cameron says 28-year-old James Emerick Dean was shot by a sheriff's deputy this afternoon. The sheriff says Dean had pointed a gun at a tactical team that was about to use gas to try to force him out of his father's house.

If they'd just left dude alone he'd have probably never been a problem.

Ever feel like you are living in a bad dream where the most ruthless heartless and greedy of us run and own everything, and the decent are for the most part powerless and victims of the others?

It seems more and more obvious to me that power over people is an illegitimate and immoral business that attracts immoral people, while most of the decent folks want nothing to do with it, are incredibly cynical of it and avoid it like the plague.

Anyway, all those ruthless greedy fucks step their way up on the decent people and rise to the top, unfettered by the morals and decency that may slow the ascension of their peers and before you know it you have a government constructed entirely of various levels and factions of conservative authoritarian scum pursuing interests contradictory to those of the people. Government itself is a fairly conservative, authoritarian and elitist idea when you think about it. It suggests that we (the stupid majority) need to be led, that we all need some specialy able class of rich white daddy figures to do it, etc.

So now we have our government killing one of it's own low rank servants because he wouldn't go to some god forsaken hell hole of our government's own creation and blow the shit out of people who he has more in common with then those who sent him there. For billionaires who juggle the money and resources of Iraqis and American tax-payers until it all just kinda goes away.

I know there is a lot I don't know about a lot, but what I do know has left me with the strong suspicion that we're all being screwed.

I hope people who become traitors to humanity to serve some establishment all catch a rare and non-contagious virus that slowly and painfully turns their internal organs in to liquid shit.

3. He won't be the last soldier who pulls a "suicide by cop"

I'm sure this war will generate more than its fair share of John Rambos and Timothy McVeighs before it's over.
