Imagine that the troops Kid Rock was talking about supporting and respecting wore a hakenkreuz instead of a US flag....No matter what you think of the invasion of Poland and the internment of Jews, you have to support and respect our troops. I know all of us do, but maybe try and show a little more if you can.
Kind of provides a different perspective, huh?
I don't respect troops who:
-kill for the "thrill" of the kill
-rape
-torture prisoners in their charge.
I DEFINITELY don't respect such people.
I know it is a small minority who engage in such acts but those who do not find a way to speak out and let the world know what is really happening are as complicit. The Nuremburg Trials put to rest the alibi that "I was simply following orders."

"This year for Christmas I wanted to make sure somebody was thanking our troops for their service, no matter what our views are on the current situation in Iraq. "I am very proud and happy to be here with some of the finest men and women in the world on Christmas Eve. "These troops bust their asses here and that's the real story, long hours, 140 degree summers and freezing nights this time of year, walking around with 60 or 70 pounds of gear, bathrooms and showers are worse than any ghetto I've ever stayed in. "No matter what you think of this war, you have to support and respect our troops. I know all of us do, but maybe try and show a little more if you can."
