"Ford was the only unelected President in U.S. history" |
|
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! He was the FIRST unelected President. G.W. Bush was never elected. As we all know, he was selected. I straightened a freep type out on this point today at work. But Ford only had a short time, whereas bush has had six loooonnnnnnggggggggggg years to fuck everything up.

He was, however, the only president never elected to either the vice presidency or the presidency. Also, the only one to survive two assassination attempts, both by women.
That's all I got. :)

Cheney was Ford's Chief of Staff, and Rumsfeld was the youngest Secretary of Defense under Ford, and the oldest under *.

He did indeed, although I read somewhere that Rummy worked for the Nixon campaign in some capacity.

9. I think what they have been saying |
|
Is that Ford wasn't elected into either office, President or VP, hence the never elected. Johnson was elected as VP, so he wouldn't fit in that classification.

5. Yeah, both of the major Detroit newspapers referred to Ford |
|
as the "only president, blah, blah, blah...." in their issues today. I yelled "LIAR" when I read them.

At least Ford's presidency came about through legal, constitutional means.

17. George Bush won by one vote in the US Supreme Court. |
|

If the US Supreme Court had not intervened, then all the Florida votes would've been re-counted statewide and Gore would've won the Electoral College.
That's the correct answer.

that the Electoral College elected George W. Bush, and that Gerald Ford remains the ONLY President never elected to the Presidency or the Vice-Presidency.

19. Yep, they have to lie 24/7 under penalty of something from the BFEE |
|
as long as that unelected war criminal, George Walker Bush is in the WH.
This is not a "long national nightmare"-this is much worse BFEE's HOMELAND (TM).

Term #1 - Bush's "victory" was decided by a 5 - 4 supreme court decision (and the first to call it was... *drum roll* Fox News) which threw out the popular votes and any chance of a real recount.
Term #2 - Bush's "victory" was decided by electronic voting machines which were more easily manipulatable than a Las Vegas slot machine.
