watching msnbc about Ford...
I actually kinda like Pres Ford, I do believe he was a genuinely kind and patriotic person...but what has caused me to pause and ponder is all the history of who was in his cabinet, what would have happened if Reagan had chosen him instead of GHWB. Looking at the stills of Cheney as chief of staff and especially Rumsfeld as Sec of Def....then seeing Bush I and Bush II looking over their shoulders....(loved the Bush II gum chewing footage - ugh) Anyway, it just hit home how political power is such an insiders game and is passed like a trophy to those deemed worthy. No wonder these old timers considered Clinton such an offense. No wonder we have such elder, out of touch thinkers as "leaders" We're being lead by those of 1977. Jeez, why is it every time I take a few days off, some Republican dies. I mean no disrespect, but I lived through all this time.....I want today's politics, not revisits.

3. he pardoned Nixon
The guy pardoned Nixon! He basically backed in to the White House. Agnew was kicked out, and then Ford became VP. Then Nixon resigns and Ford becomes president. He was never elected! I feel bad for his family and my thoughts and prayers are with them. He wasn't a great president though. I hate how some people on the right are practically rewriting history. At least he didn't send our troops into some country to be peacekeepers. Give him credit for that.

4. no, he was never elected
but was still president. There's a lot to be said about his two years in office. In my opinion, and I was there, he did effectively heal the country. Additionally, Betty's problems had a huge impact, and do to this day, on the problem of addiction. Much much more than Nancy's just say no program. Apparently just say no was meant to be about everything except coke..(because coke was all about the "me generation") or maybe sex that might give you AIDs..but I digress. Betty Ford, and Gerald in his way, were cool. And a breath of fresh air after Nixon.

5.  Bush Blinking Increases Under Stress......Blinkey the Clown
...yes, saw the gum chewing. The only thing more disgusting was the open-mouth-chewing-scene at dinner with Tony Blair when he left his microphone on. Remember that? (Slimy dinner roll all over his chin) ewwww...lol. What an A-hole, always acts like he's on the Pig Farm having lunch with Pickles. Does anyone else notice that when Junior is under stress or trying to act "sincere", he blinks his eyes while he talks? What's up with that? He was talking about the Ford Death and he was blinking so bad he looked like Goober Pyle on Crack. (Apology to Goober fans)

:puke:

6. He's not comfortable
with sincerity or compassion. He's never been shown how to be...He is constantly afraid of showing emotion, because his emotion is inappropriate. I sometimes think W knows he's lying and feels badly about it. Mostly I think he knows he's lying and feels he's justified. I despise him. Coward

7. Remember this - the debate with Kerry

He could have taken off if he hadn't been wired to Rove's mouth!
