So even if a woman gets a Dr's Rx, goes to the store;
Finds a Pharmasist who actually does his/her job, Wally-mart doesn't stock the pill;

Women Sue Wal-Mart Over Contraception

BOSTON (AP) -- Backed by abortion rights groups, three Massachusetts women sued Wal-Mart on Wednesday, accusing the retail giant of violating a state regulation by failing to stock emergency contraception pills in its pharmacies.

The lawsuit, filed in state court, seeks to force the company to carry the morning-after pill in its 44 Wal-Marts and four Sam Club stores in Massachusetts. The plaintiffs argued that state policy requires pharmacies to provide all "commonly prescribed medicines."

Wal-Mart carries the morning-after pill in Illinois only, where it is required under state law, said Dan Fogleman, a spokesman for Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart.

Fogleman said the company "chooses not to carry many products for business reasons." He would not elaborate. But in a letter to a lawyer for the plaintiffs, a Wal-Mart attorney said the store chain does not regard the drug as "commonly prescribed."

The article also adds that CVS stocks the 'morning-after pill' at all of its drug-stores. There are too many reasons why I do not spend a dime at Wally-mart. Hearing that Wall Street just lowered its stock price by 2%. But seriously, I'd rather stand in line at K-mart than go to a store that will use the money I spend on any purchase to go to programs I would not spend a penny on had I the choice. Anyway, here's the URL; That was all of the story BTW.

1. While it makes me feel nauseous, I back WalMart on this
It is not appropriate to compel a merchant to carry particular products, especially since the product in question, thanks to patent laws, is only available from one source. This is regardless of the product or its intended use.

Since CVS is more numerous and carries it, the argument that it is not adequately available would be specious.

Thin k I will go lie down until the feeling caused by agreeing with WalMart passes.
