I need to send six hundred dollars to Immigration services, which is now part of Humungo Security. They send it back instructions on what it accepts.
It will accept a money order OR
You can pay by personal check, IF you go to the office and present it in person AND you have two pieces of ID, ONE OF WHICH can be a passport.
Now think. This is the same agency that lets me in and out of the country on nothing more than flashing my passport. But it won't take a check on that basis. A passport is the only thing stopping terrorists from sneaking into the country to kill us, but to pass bad paper at INS, Osama will have to have another piece of ID.
How much confidence does INS have in it's own passports?
And it KNOWS passports aren't useful for ID, or it wouldn't stipulate another form in addition to passports. Our Hopeless Security department puts more security on six hundred bucks than it puts on our entire nation. Just saying.
By the way, you might wonder what additional forms of identity one has to show for the US to risk six hundred bucks. With a passport, you can show a Social Security Card as the second ID. You know, the card that says it's NOT to be used for identification. Guess what the SSA will accept as ID in order to give you a social security card.

1. When are you going to learn? |
|
National security = stop americans from getting into public government buildings. National security = spying on american citizens is the government right. National security = do nothing to secure the nation from terrorists, in fact under the 2 Bush's Arab nationals and Sunni Muslims were given a rubber stamp into the country.
