and I get the feeling that he will get a slight bump, but next week it will be back to the Hillary/Obama show.

I just dont get why he cant make headway.

He says all the right things. He is fully committed to universal healthcare. He is committed to fighting poverty. He is committed to alternative energy sources and fighting global warming. He supports repealing the Bush tax cuts. He seems totally honest and sincere. He seems like he truly wants to do the job and do it the right way.

So why doesnt he get more press? Why isnt he more popular???

I know on DU he will forever be attacked because of his IWR vote.

But is there something else? Is he boring? Why is he not more popular?

2. I think his VP debate with the weasel
really hurt him. To many he came across as a lightweight and I am not sure he ever recovered. This is just my opinion.

6. biggest thing about that debate was Cheney saying he never met him
And all the video the next day proving Cheney lied his ass off again.

7. no, I only see the Obama/Hillary show constantly
This is not just on the TV, but even when talking to family members and normal folks.

It seems that Obama can sneeze and get people all excited.

5. I Like Him Alot And Have The World Of Respect For Him, Yet I Can't Even Figure Out Myself Why I
can't even consider him winning an election. He speaks the issues well and everything, but I just can't see him leading this country. I just don't know what it is and I just can't put my finger on it.

I've gotta be honest: As good as I think he is as a person and a speaker of the issues, I don't think he has a shot at all. Guess we'll have to see.

9. There is some sort of funky intangible quality about him
that seems unpresidential - I know what you're sayin'. With a well run campaign, however, I think America's concept of what is presidential could be shifted slightly to accomodate him. So I think he's got just as good a shot as anybody.

I'm not sure if he'll be my guy, but I glad he's running. If nothing else, he'll raise awareness on a number of crucial issues, particularly poverty. Additionally, he's a charismatic guy with a positive message, and thus will represent the party well in the media.

12. He is NOT boring. He's magnetic in person. Loaded with charisma

And his talk--it wasn't a speech--in Chapel Hill tonight reminded me of JFK and Bobby Kennedy. He wants all of us to take responsibility for taking action in our communities---and he wants to address the question of the have/have nots. Poverty was a theme with Bobby, and of course JFK told us to 'ask what you can do for your country'

See my post from seeing him in person tonight at the rally in Chapel Hill

The media do NOT want a Dem candidate that will win. It's too threatening to the powers that be. That's why they're pushing Hillary--or Obama.

Take a look at the video link in my post. The reporter spends more time talking about what John was wearing than what he said. Or how the crowd responded. Or interviewing crowd members.

The media doesn't want him.
