BBC international just said that Bush and Laura
were moved into armoured vehicles because of the tornado watch in Crawford.

Why isn't that on MSM. Bet that fucker is scared shitless.

1. Got to keep up the appearance of being Mr. Tough Guy!
There he is, the brave manly Cowboy, facing down the Tornado, puffing up his chest and challenging it to "bring it on".

How does sitting in an armoured vehicle protect you from a tornado? Seriously...

7. Good luck to them if it gets flooded...
...around their armoured vehicle!

Junior and Laura will have to climb on the car's roof, holding signs
that say, "Help us!". Do they know that it takes the US Government
an average of 6 days to get bottled water to victims of natural disasters?

This should be good.

it may even have more lift than a regular car. This is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard the SS do.

24. Well, the administration never was a lover of science.
Hell, a couple of times watching the weather channel or Discovery would be all it took to know that being in a vehicle is not the best idea. Growing up in Texas, even Bush should have known this. They tell you if you are driving and there is no where to go, to find a low spot and cover your head. They should have just gone into an interior room and covered up.

40. He spent enough of his childhood in Texas to know.
I lived in Maryland until I was 8, then we moved to Florida. They just teach you these things in states where tornadoes are likely.

Anyway, he never was the brightest bulb. He could have been busy blowing up frogs the days they had tornado drills.

11. I've got some news for the SS, if an 18 wheeler can be lifted by a tornado...
Edited on Fri Dec-29-06 04:42 PM by originalpckelly
so can an armored vehicle. It's not just debris, it's the fact that a vehicle acts like a wing in a tornado, it's shape generates lift. It's actually more dangerous having them in a vehicle with a gap between it and the ground, than it is to have then in a basement.

If that sucker lifts off the ground and is slammed into the earth, it won't matter how much armor it has.

13. Millions on securing the pig farm and no storm shelter? Come on
you just gotta be joking. In the interest of their every present national security fears I'd have thought for sure they'd at least have a secure communications bunker buried out there somewhere.

Hard to believe they leave the boss to face the bad wind while Cheney had a friggin second basement dug and reinforced as a bunker in the VP residence.

20. Wait . . . wait . . . wait . . . "an armoured vehicle" ???
. . . "moved into an armoured vehicle because of the tornado watch" ???

Wha? Huh?

Isn't this the president of the United States of America? Isn't this his home? OK. Then why the hell hasn't other precautions been taken regarding tornadoes?

Seriously.

For example, wouldn't it be rational to have a tornado cellar? You know, seeing that this is the residence of the U.S.A. president! Planning ahead would be lovely, huh?

Oh, yeah. This is the same damn fool who lead us into Iraq "due to" "weapons of mass destruction" . . . oh, yeah. Such a reminder, huh? An ass. Total and complete ass.

P.S. Those "damn" Brits still don't know how to spell . . . it's not "armoured" uh-uh. Instead, it's "armored" . . .

.

Bush sheltered during tornado alert

CRAWFORD, Texas - President Bush and first lady Laura Bush were moved to an armored vehicle on their ranch Friday when a tornado warning was issued in central Texas, the White House said.

The vehicle was driven to a tornado shelter on the ranch, and the president, Mrs. Bush and their two dogs sat inside until the weather cleared, deputy White House press secretary Scott Stanzel said. They were never moved into the shelter, he said.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning at 2:34 p.m. CST after a severe thunderstorm with a history of producing tornadoes was reported 13 miles south of Clifton, Texas, and moving northeast. Clifton is 20 miles northwest of Crawford.

You don't always get a chance to load up in your armored vehicle and drive before a tornado hits.
