The most disquieting thing about the execution of Saddam Hussein

is that it's another groteque misjudgement on the part of team bushco. I have no doubt that it will simply add to the violence in Iraq, and around the world, it will further harden hearts against the U.S. It's hard to believe that they can be this stupid, but I can't quite buy into the wanting to kill him so he won't talk (hell, he's had umpteen years to talk), and neither do I buy the theory that bushco wants to keep Iraq in a state of violence and civil war. So that leaves stupidity and stubborness, both of which have characterized this president throughout his miserable term.

6. I'm beginning to think that it's calculated. The more unrest

and unease in Iraq, the more the violence escalates, the less like it is that the troops will come home. It's more likely more troops will be sent to put down insurgencies and rebellions. BushCo cannot have the war end while he is in office because then all the soldiers and everyone else involved over there will be able to talk about it, and talk about it and talk about it.

This would not be good for BushCo.

Peace in Iraq means Iraqi oil flowing. Since Bush and Cheney both have ties to the oil industry, it's in their interests for that oil to stay in the ground, thus driving teh price of crude up.

13. I believe if Saddam had fingered bushco any time prior to the invasion,

his gig would be up and he knew it.

I am against capital punishment but even if I were for it, a fair trial would be an essential mandatory requirement and this kangaroo court trial was anything but. I believe this was all about shutting Saddam up and fast.

I also believe this will only serve to turn Saddam in to a martyr for the Sunnis and what is already a dire situation will only be inflamed more.

If bushco is truly an owned and operated subsidiary of the military industrial complex which former President and General Eisenhower warned us against, and I believe he is, this would be logical to them, in their minds eternal war = eternal profits.

The same kind of judgment disbanded the Iraqi Army to begin with, and that's when the fecal material started flying. If bushco had truly been interested in stabilizing Iraq, they would have worked with the Iraqi People instead of against them.
