They Danced On Saddam's body
Some of the victim's families that watched the execution danced on Saddam's dead body as per Anderson Cooper on CNN. Look, I will lose no sleep over his death, but was that really necessary? Shouldn't Iraqi authorities have made this a bit more civil? Not because I sympathize with Saddam but am a person who supports the law.

1. That I can agree with...
in America we do not let that sickness happen. Executions are not joyous, but very sorrowful that the whole mess had to happen.

That's going to incite violence, I have a distinct feeling that desecrating his body will do it.

3. I find it hard to believe that this would have been permitted
There were supposed to be U.S. troops around. If this was allowed, then things have really gotten out of hand, one way or another.

There are no authorities in Iraq.

6. I am not sure I would believe everything CNN reports.
I worked today and I kept tabs on the website for news. I guess it was around 11:00 AM eastern time, I read we gave Iraq, custody of him. Then a little while later. No we still have custody. I did not know until the execution who the heck had custody of him because none of the news networks were reporting consistent stories.

7. Personally, I was expecting...
...that they'd dump the body in some Shi'ite stronghold, where the media would get lots of footage of "common Iraqis" desecrating the corpse.

I still predict a bump in Bush's popularity from this.

8. Similar to when the statue of Saddam came down-they hit it with their shoes, a sign of disrespect or
something like that. They jumped on the statue and hit it with their shoes. This may be the same gesture

9. Well, they are Iraqi authorities, not American authorities.
At least, supposedly so...so I suppose it's their business not ours.

11. "Around the body" was/is the CNN report and also on the crawl.
The Iraqi "National Security Advisor" just confirmed it on CNN. But again, dancing "around" not "on" the body. FWIW.
