1. and Hadley had to call him from Washingotn
to give him the timeline before he went to bed. Not one of the cowards sleeping in Crawford tonight could tell him the timeline. They left that to the man that they left behind in Washington to do. If they had to do it, it would have interrupted the orgy!

2. It's all part of the "Iraqis killed Saddam, not me" ruse...
And they had to fine tune it to: "but the pResident was fully informed before he went to bed."

7. We already know that the only thing that's ever kept him up
past his bedtime was when he had to be rushed back to D.C. in his jammies so he could interfere with Terri Shiavo's right to a dignified death. The not-so-dignified death of his supposed arch-enemy -- the guy we supposedly went to war to depose and got a whole bunch of people killed in the process -- apparently wasn't important enough to keep him awake an extra hour or so. (They hanged Saddam at about 10:00 EST, which would be 9:00 in Crawford. Does he always go to bed that early, or does he pass out after a visit with his pal Jack Daniels?).

Actually, I'm a bit surprised that he didn't wait up in front of his teevee, watching Faux Snooze, spellbound and wanking.

12. From TPM
(December 29, 2006 -- 10:18 PM EDT) Reuters, December 29th, 2006 18:35 GMT ...
The White House declined to comment on the timing.
"That is a matter for the Iraqi people, we are observers to that process. They are a sovereign government and they will make their own decisions regarding carrying out justice," spokesman Scott Stanzel said in Crawford, Texas.

AP, December 29th, 2006 10:02 PM Eastern
An adviser to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Saddam would be executed before 6 a.m. Saturday, or 10 p.m. Friday EST. Saddam and others were convicted of murder in the killings of 148 Shiite Muslims from an Iraqi town where assassins tried to kill Saddam in 1982.

The time was agreed upon during a meeting Friday between U.S. and Iraqi officials, said the adviser, who declined to be quoted by name because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

13. But he just released a statement !
So I guess he was talking in his sleep. That's only marginally better than when he talks out of his ass (which is what he usually does).
