I finally saw "Borat" yesterday.... |

Unbelievably crude and offensive, but offensive in a satirical way that points out some ugly truths about America. The scene at the rodeo, in which the crowd cheers for the destruction of Iraq and the man tells him he looks too much like a Mooos-lim, is hilariously funny but tremendously sad at the same time. Same with the mysoginistic, paranoid of minorities frat boys traveling cross country. Americans caught in the act of being themselves - sometimes it's not too pretty. :scared:

1. Some people were cheering for his comments at the rodeo |

and considering a few DUers noted that local bars had people cheering when they heard of Saddam's hanging, I think the attitudes displayed in the film are more commonplace than most would want to admit.

Denial is as much a part of the national psyche as "apple pie."
