Rape Rooms
Help me out here. I always had a mental problem with "rape rooms". It never made sense. Were these rooms reserved? "Can I have a rape room at 8:00?" If someone was found raping someone, were they told "you can't do that here, you must go to a rape room."

What it sounds like to me, is that someone came up with a horrendous concept phrase. A rape room is not logical at all, but sounds horrible. How is a rape room furnished? What makes it a rape room? It just smacks of propaganda meant to shock and horrify.

That's my problem. I do not believe there is such a thing as a rape room. Once a skeptic about one of the horrors pegged on Sadaam, it makes me take all news of his horrors with a grain of salt.

I don't mourn his death. I just don't think we know what happened really, nor that we will ever know.

14. I never once said what Bush did was right.
I am sick and tired of people making Saddam out to be NOT a horrible person that committed genocide on his own people.

16. Woah, back up.......
I never said that Saddam was a great guy.....he was a vile SOB...however, he had plenty of help over the decades from American SOB's and for BushCo to take the moral highground when it comes to Saddam is simply laughable and the height of hypocrisy.
We have become what he hate. Saddam was condemned for what he did, fine. But it's perfectly ok for the gang of American War Criminals to strut around and spew their lies and keep on killing and at the same time want the world to believe that somehow we are a moral authority?
C'mon now!

2. I believe bush coined the term
in his buildup to the "Iraqi Liberation" he would go on and on about torture chambers and rape rooms. Much like the US has at Abu Ghraib.

9. I didn't buy that either.
The implication was that so many rapes occured in Saddam's palaces that certain rooms were set aside for those purposes. Were there murder rooms too? Were the rooms interspersed with the bedrooms and bathrooms or was there an entire rape wing? Sounds like stories concocted to illustrate Saddam's depravity.

11. Help Me Understand
Saddam Hussein executed for gassing some hundreds of Kurds.

Bush kills 3,000 US troops (maimed some 20,000 or so) and probably some 600,000 Iraqis.

Is there a disconnect here?

The implications are obvious to me.

17. Wrong- he was never tried and convicted for gassing Kurds
The Kurds are pissed because they didn't get their day in court with Saddam. They wanted the facts to come out in open court as to who helped Saddam acquire the gas-etc.

Saddam was convicted of executing 120 men and boys in revenge for attempting to assassinate him.

You need to stay on top of the facts especially if you enter into discussion with BabyBitch fans. They will latch onto any inconsistency in your argument and feel justified in throwing the whole thing out.

FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK - FACT CHECK -

19. I haven't gotten that impression, but
in any case if that is the story going around we need to squash it. They (you know who they are) didn't want the facts to come out about the gassing of the Kurds as it might have something to do with that famous DRummy handshake.

15. They existed
Though you might not have been able to go into your Microsoft Outlook and book the room, they did exist. Both in the Iraqi prisons, as well as in various other locations controlled by the former elite, particularly Saddam's sons. They were particularly notorious for having women essentially grabbed off the streets for their looks and brought to apartments, houses, etc, secured by their security forces where they would be raped. This was a regular occurance. If the girl struggled she would be shot.

Female prisoners would also be raped as punishments, or just for amusement.

Not only has this been widely reported in the media, but my family in Iraq has personal experience with it.

They know what happened.
