5. It actually raises violent crime rates (as those stats have shown)

my father is a psychologist for a state prison system, and he has stated time and time again that imposing a death penalty in any state will guarantee a rise in murder rates. Why isn't exactly known; maybe those criminals have a death wish, or maybe the thought of life in prison is far scarier than death.

8. Its a hard thing to study
but it makes sense to me that violence generates more violence, and that people with nothing to lose are willing to lose everything, including their lives.
