It's good that the kiddies got to see Saddam's twisted neck.

That was my favorite part this morning, the still 'after' photo of the wretch with his neck twisted sharply to the right in death, and it's a good thing that millions of American kiddies got to see it this morning as they surfed looking for Saturday morning cartoons.

I'm sure they can handle it after all that they've seen on t.v. and in video games and slasher films, it's just see it for a second or two, what's the harm? The little ones have no clue and keep surfing, the older ones who might understand it are too bored, and a tiny percentage of them might ask mommy what was wrong with that man, but overall, it's a good thing, they've learned a valuable lesson in life, fuck with America, choke to death.

I'm sure that tiny percentage of kiddies won't be mentally crippled or unhinged over seeing the terrorist who attacked us on nine eleven get what he had coming to him.

Our kids are tough, sharp, able to tell right from wrong, and we've taught them to be compassionate and we tell them every Sunday morning how to be good kiddies, we tell them that Jesus loves the little children, that we should love even our enemies, that we should turn the other cheek when slapped, that we should obey the golden rule, that we shall not kill, so seeing Saddam's corpse displayed like a hunter shows a freshly killed boar won't affect them negatively, we've given them all the coping tools they need.

It's a good thing, for the kids, it'll make them tough, tough for the future America that is surely coming.

4. I think America has just turned the corner into a dark alley.

I was thinking of this all morning. All of this.. the public display of Saddam's murdered sons, the (supposedly leaked)photos of Saddam in his underwear looking like a sad old man in jail, the public hanging. This is Bush's world. This is the neo-cons world. We are turning the corner on a dark time in American history. Saddam is guilty of terrible crimes, no one will deny that. It's the way all of this has played out, and the tolerance and even DEMAND for this kind of blood-thirsty, brutal, entertainment, is what frightens me.

Some incredibly stupid people today will be cheering Saddam's death for the wrong reasons. They firmly believe that he was in charge of the 9/11 attacks, that he is a terrorist boss, and was a threat to America. And they will be egged on by neo-con spinners that have no conscience, the Macheavellian operators that are controlling the message through intimidation and influence. America has been slowly raised on a diet of media violence and brutality. Things that would make viewers in the 60's faint, now are so commonplace.

How does America go back? How do we return to a place where it's NOT acceptable to show a hanged man on national television, or the bullet riddled bodies of his sons? Why is it that the neocons refuse to have any real coverage of the war and what the troops face, but allow only brutal images that support THEIR worldview and plans?

Perhaps required reading for all DUers, and citizens, should be the very blueprints on which the neocons have built our new America... some Macheavellian strategies, and the memoirs of the most brutal and evil of all warriors.
