Uh-huh...likes it/them so much he avoided serving when he was young, uses the troops as political pawns now, and still has yet to go to any of their funerals?

Last year, he read a letter from the mother of Sergeant Bryon Norwood of Pflugerville, Texas, who was killed in combat. On Tuesday, he read the letter of Staff Sgt. Dan Clay, who was killed last month and whose widow and parents were in the gallery during the address. Both men lost their lives battling insurgents in Fallujah.
Though some of the President's critics claim this a ploy to garner more sympathy for the ongoing war in the Middle East, Johnson assures that it is not and that the tribute is truly heartfelt.
"He likes the military and has a good feel for them," said Johnson. "So when he does something like that, he is sincere. In fact he almost brought me to tears when he did that, I was sitting right below them (the family of Sgt. Clay).

"He's shown leadership in the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice (Samuel) Alito (who was confirmed and sworn in on Tuesday), and he's shown leadership on staying the course in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Johnson. "I'm glad that we have a president who puts principles before poll numbers."
