Wash Journal caller: "Any good day for America is a bad day for them (liberals)" |
|
So, I just made the mistake of listening to a re-broadcast of Washington Journal on C-span radio. Normally I try to stay away from Washington Journal, b/c I often find myself shouting at some of the callers, lol.
Anyway, one repug caller discussing Hussein's execution said he knew liberals were in a bad mood today because "Any good day for America is a bad day for them."
Any good day for America is a bad one for liberals?

That's just right-wing BS. They claim that we liberals are sad that Saddam is gone, yet they were the ones shaking hands with him 20 years ago. I'll have "Hypocrisy" for $1000, Alex.

and equates liberals with terrorists, just as they think Saddam was the mastermind behind 911. I say, be very careful if you get around folks like this--keep smiling and keep your back to the wall. I hate to say it, but I fear it will only be a matter of time before one of these nut cases takes it on himself to go hurt a Democrat because of what they've been told.

Since about half of Americans hold liberal views, it's hard to imagine how a "good day for America" could be a bad day for so many Americans.

20% hold ultra conservative views, usually tinged and tainted with some religious belief. far more than 50% hold to something more fair, equitable and moderate. a small percentage want radical change in society, although that number is probably growing quickly.
Of those 50%, many can be swayed by argument. For 8 years, we were told that librul was a swear word, that conservatives were compassionate, that blah blah blah. unfortunately, the moderate and liberal words were never uttered, or never repeated in MSM. Either way, we lost the middle earth to the orcs. If we phrase and present our side cogently, we win. It is that simple. we do NOT want to become GOP-Lite.

5. I have news for that caller |

We are all Americans, repubs don't own America and I'm sure there are repubs who are opposed to the death penalty. What an assinine thing to have said.

6. As if Liberals aren't Americans. |

We liberals are more likely to join the military and actually do something about helping our country. Unlike conservatives who only talk a good game. That's all conservatives have is talk.

7. Republicans have always been America's main enemy |
|
Edited on Sat Dec-30-06 03:49 PM by Tactical Progressive
Dems should be calling up and saying that, rather than being defensive about the 'traitor' puke they spew.
And after the Dem Congress is seated, and later a Dem President is elected and their bile starts coming over the airwaves as we start making progress, call in with their spew, finally appropriate:
Republicans are in a bad mood today because "Any good day for America is a bad day for them."
Take a guess how much they'll like that.

9. Just had a few drinks with a FR bartender... |
|
He was a young kid, said he was in the Air Force. I listened to him spout about the whiners in the Reserves and National Guard. He said that we just need a surge of troops to make Iraq right.
After a few minutes I entered the conversation as a Liberal. I only asked him a question or two. First I asked him to tell me what Iraq would be like when we were satisfied and would pull our troops out. He muttered that we would never leave, but then it kind of dawned on him that we were never going to win. Next he said we could get out when Iraq was broken up into three countries. I asked him about the Kurds and Turkey. He babbled again.
He actually was kind of useless in the conversation. Once I took away his rant against Liberals by asking him questions, he had no answers.
So I say to any Freeper: "How will we know when we a done in Iraq? What will it look like?"
I'm guessing they don't have an answer.
