Wolfowitz: "For bureaucratic reasons, we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction"
A little blast from the past...

http://news.independent.co.uk/world/politics/article2112671.ece

<snip>

Mr Wolfowitz later said Saddam's alleged possession of WMD was just one of many reasons for invading. "For bureaucratic reasons, we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction, because it was the one reason everyone could agree on," he said.

2. everyone agreed on WMD because you lied and they fell for it.
What he's saying is there wasn't consensus to go to war with Iraq except on the fabricated issue of WMDs. These "other reasons" were obviously not good enough to merit a "pre-emptive war".

5. Exactly right!
The threat of WMD's aka "Mushroom Cloud" was the ONLY reason that they could use to get the American people to agree to the invasion. They knew this and the Neo-Conartists and their co-cospirators lied through their teeth to get their way.

10. You're telling me.
Rightfully so, no one thought Iraq was a threat, and if more people hadn't been afraid of terrorism in the wake of 9/11, they would've seen through the bullshit coming out of Bushes mouth. I mean, really, this pissy pants dictator who hid in a whole, made people get naked when they came to see him, all because he was afraid of dying, was going to bomb us, by giving people who hated him a nuke?

Oh and that's if you believed they had nukes.

Problem is that most Americans aren't nuclear weapons experts and they get scared when they hear the President say they might be nuked.

8. Wolfowitz tells Vanity Fair: - upcoming investigations will have this high upon their priority list
Starting in mid-January. All we need is the truth to be known, the rest will take care of Bush & Cheney and the rest of the bunch.
