The white community doesn't have the conviction to prosecute Bush & Cheney
I really do believe that even amongst the lead Democrats, that there isn't enough conviction to support prosecution of Bush and Cheney. It would require an honesty from the media about reporting what those two have done behind the scenes to change public opinion, and I don't see any reason why the media would suddenly become honest brokers now.

I sense that what happened during Reagan's time, is about to happen again. They're going to get all sentimental and weepy and claim that everything they did was for the good of this nation; or that Bush really was too dumb to understand that he was being advised incorrectly. I think that's why the media and the Republicans are changing their stance after the Alito vote and are acting shocked, SHOCKED, that the Democrats are combative. They want to dilute the backlash that is about to descend.

What's wrong with this? The fact that if laws are applied differently in this country, it will reinforce the air of arrogance amongst privileged groups which got us where we are today. And it's happened before. I truly believe things developed as they did because we didn't have the resolve to throw the book at Reagan and Bush in the 80s and that if Bush and Cheney prevail, it will reinforce the political corruption at the local and state level, where it originated in the first place. From there it will grow again and another scandal will resurface ten years from now when the Republicans try their shenanigans again.

Does anybody else see it any different?

1. Going after Dick and Bush would require America to question too much
Too much about our own stupidity.

Too much about our media.

Too much about the scary inner workings of 'democracy.'

Too much. This is all just too much for Joe Heartland to take on. Thus, it is easier to ignore it all and blame liberals, Arabs, gays, pregnant women, schools, everything but the dictator taking over.

It can't happen here.

Can it?

3. How are we going to do it without honest brokers giving the public
pertinent information for them to make educated decisions? Why did we fail during the Reagan era to convince the public that what they did was terrible? At least we had honest brokers back then.

2. I can see it happening like that.
Those on the left will be so glad that the * era is over that we'll grow complacent again, as we did after Reagan. And the Repugs can slither their way back into respectability by claiming * was just too stupid to understand, just as they claimed Reagan was senile. I think you've got it figured out.

Of course, the privileged class will just be glad to have things stay as they are, with them getting richer all the time. It's certainly a possibility.

4. This White Person Feels Differently
I want to see Bush & Cheney get theirs. Maybe the upper-class twits in my ethnic group like them, but not me. Personally, I wouldn't mind having someone like Conyers as President. He could shake things up a bit. No more tired rich white guys.

5. You're too well informed, Tammy.
I'm beginning to wonder if the Republican's No Child Left Behind policy was intentionally meant to dumb this country down, because only those who are inquisitive enough to seek the truth seem to be able to make the obvious connections.

8. Get real.
Minority groups have a different view of our criminal justice system. The studies are very conclusive that our system isn't color blind.
