So now we uninsured and unemployed Americans are
suppose to save for our health care? How exactly does that work, George? :spank: If we are underemployed, much less non employed, how exactly are we suppose to save for our health care? Some of us, for example like my husband and I , can't afford, thru employer sponsored health care insurance, too pay for both. My husband pays thru his employer, $60/mo for his health care insurance. In order to cover me, it's an addition $400/mo, hence I am not covered. And that is the same for one family member or x # of family members. And now bushco,INC. wants to eliminate employer tax breaks for health care insurance, further making more uninsured Americans? Great plan! :sarcasm: Tell me again how the GOP represents working class Americans or Americans in general? If you aren't rich, you don't matter!

bushco,INC. health care plan in a nutshell, "Don't get sick!

18. Illegal? How many kidneys and lungs do you really need?
Then again, I doubt that anyone is hard up enough to want one of mine.

2. Let them eat cake!
Really, that's basically the essence of what he's saying. Don't have health care because you're unemployed? Well, just save your money and buy it yourself!

4. Not really.
You're supposed to stop buying any health care whatsoever, thereby lowering demand for medical care and making it more affordable for insurers.

I'm not kidding. That's the way it is meant to work. The problem is perceived as you wanting too much health care, and to raise the price on you as a disincentive. You probably thought the problem with your health care was that it already costs too much and you should be able to buy more, right?

10. Well the way it's meant to work and the way it might work and the
way bushco, Inc. wants it to work, doesn't really jive with reality, does it?

un- or under-insured. Got no insurance? Well, pay for a doctor yourself! See, no prob!

22. If my hypothesis is correct, a new golden age is about to start.
Wheel turns. Civilization is born. Wheel turns. Civilization falls. Those bright enough will endeavor to survive the transition. Assuming the new elite allows them to cross.

14. But see, it's the feeling of "empowerment" that's really important.
We're sooo lucky to get to experience such overwhelming feelings of empowerment and self-sufficiency--I can't wait!!!

:sarcasm:

Actually, my new job has just switched insurance over to one of these new policies that has a MSA attached to it. We're just now getting our materials (a whole other story), but it looks like pretty lousy coverage. Kinda reminds me of the Medicare drug benefit plans, and we all know how well those are turning out.

I've quit kidding myself--if I get really sick or badly hurt, that's it for me. I have no fallback position.

16. come now...pull yourself up by your bootstraps
I mean, things are really...heh...working out pretty well for you poor-folk. So stay the course, report your neighbors (if they're doing anything un-American like, that is) and bask in the glory of our freedom, which is on the march.

OK, for real...here's to your health! Your situation sounds almost exactly like what my s.o. and I are living with.

17. Much like modern-day sci-fi plots, don't bother look at speech transcripts
For they sound and look nice upfront, but reading the details shows any number of gigantic plot holes and contradictions.

I shouldn't even say "modern-day", the Bible is chock full of them too.

24. Of course
If we can't afford to save for our healthcare, then we don't deserve to live.

Sorry, I got my final unemployment check today, without any notice that it would be less than $200, and the rent is due by Friday. I'm a little bitter.
