I am heavy into feminist and cultural writing. I write nearly exclusively about culture myself. It permeates my work. Ana Castillo is a magnificent writer. Fantastic poet, excellent short story and essayist. A truly groundbreaking thinker. Entertaining and intelligent. In particular, I think any woman should read her, she is truly enthralling and encapsulates women's issues in a unique and fascinating manner. So I will include some links to a few short stories, they are not long at all, and make interesting quick reading. Also read "The Mixquiahuala Letters" I have and it is a wonderful book. A short and quick read. Her first book, I believe.
It's writers like this that make me want to sit down and write. There is something to be said for that. -Bill
