basically saying "thanks for working 2 jobs with no benefits and not rebelling and voting for Republicans and being more concerned with gay marriage then whether or not your kid gets to see a doctor while Exxon/Mobil gets the profits and people like me get a tax cut"

Very good. I was thinking...if I were someone who had never seen this show before and didn't get the humor and I was in the kitchen at the time unable to read the graphics, I might have thought Colbert was serious. I hope there are enough people like us to keep this show on the air.

It's all satire but he does it so well! I love the little typed up words in the box on the screen during his "The Word." It's usually hilarious stuff. He's great. Jon Stewart is a producer of the show so I'm not surprised. :)

8. well, "truthiness" was mentioned on Oprah |
|
Colbert must be doing something right!
By the way, "truthiness" needs to be added to the DU spell checker.

I missed that show. I'm assuming it means one of those things everyone knows that actually have no basis in fact.
Please clarify. I'd love to use the term. :bounce:

goes over with people who have never experienced O'Reilly and the other court jester hosts on corporata propaganda 'so-called news'.

This is by far the best episode of Colbert Report yet. The Duke Cunningham episode was the best one before this one, but this one topped that and then some.
Which is good, because the Daily Show was a tad off tonight. After the "addicted to oil" joke flopped, it seemed like it threw Stewart for the entire show...

At first, I didn't really get it. I knew it was satire, but I didn't think it was as good as what he did on TDS. I've never seen O'Really and never plan to :scared:, so I didn't get the reference.

28. You're not going to believe this |
|
but when Colbert's show was first on, the freepers thought he was "one of them." One of our relentless DU trolls went "over there" and reported back with their posts. Hilarious. They were so happy to have their own rightwing comedy show. They were giddy. And thrilled to have an "anti-Stewart." One lone poster kept saying..."I think he's mocking us." And they kept drowning him out. Not sure what they're thinking now.
