I can't believe it wasn't Murtha. Or even Obama. ANYONE but tha namby pamby idiot that was supposed to speak truth to power and represent US!!!

So who's responsible for making the choice?

DNC? DLC? Reid? Pelosi? Who? I need it in writing for something I'm working on.

1. I liked Kaine, but the 1st choice was probably Mark Warner.
I'm guessing Clinton, Biden, and others with 08 aspirations didn't like that so they settled on Kaine.
The DNC makes the call.

11. While this link does not specifically say it was the DNC
this article describes what the DNC does and what groups it controls. If it wasn't the DNC who would it be?

2. great question ! I wondered myself. I saw Dean on tv and he
just raved about Kaine. I hope Dean is still fighting against the war. Or, maybe it was a strategy. Put on some mealy-mouth, hear the criticism and then he will be free to push someone more liberal next time around.

God, WHEN will the Dems get their act together??? Don't they read the friggin polls that show most people want a plan to get out of the Iraq nightmare???

8. We can do better is what America has to believe
if we want elected. I thought it was a well done message to all Americans and not just partisan hatred to feed the democratic base.

9. Kaine was picked because he is like Springer
someone the right leaners can relate to. Right now there are many, many real repubs who hate Bush. Kaine represents a party that they could see themselves belonging to. While those on the permanent left may not think he IS the party, he is part of the party and a good way to collect the Bush haters.
