1. Whoa! Cool! That says they're unhappy with the DeLay cabal.
Anyway, I know that Bohner is crooked too, but he's not as tightly linked to DeLay as Blunt is.

35. Everyone I have EVER known with an "oeh" in their name pronounced
it with a long O..He's "prettified" the name because he was mercilessly teased as a kid, no doubt.. I went to school with a guy whose name was Fred Tucker, and all through school when we passed the papers to the front of the row, his rarely made it to the front without the T in his last name being "customized"..When we went to the high school reunion, he had changed his last name to his middle name.. It apparently scarred him pretty bad.. He preferred to be an "Adams"..instead of a "Tucker"..His parents apparently also forgot that Fred Adams Tucker also led to FAT....he was a bit on the chunky side too..

McCain made a public statement supporting Shadegg. Wonder what this means for his anticipated run in the primaries in 08.

22. Did you realize that Boehner will be the next Speaker when
Hastert resigns in a few years? IOnly, of course if the Pubs keep the Majority!)

I try not to pay too much attention to how the Pubs do things, but CNN just said that the Majority leader is always next in line to be Speaker, and all leadership positions are time limited.

I don't know thie new creature, and it's scarey that he's from Ohio! But I really detested Blount, so I think he's the better of two bad.

Jean Schmidt country. SW Ohio is looking more and more like the capital of fascism in America. Boehner is dangerous, folks, if this is any indication of what the GOP has planned for the future.

you really think Boehner is worse? It's obviously not OUR decision, but I didn't like any of the 3 who were trying for this spot!

40. I think Blount is transparent, that's why Boehner is more dangerous
Boehner is flying in under the radar. But make no mistake, Boehner has been around for a long while and he's thoroughly in the pocket of the Bushreich.

For a glimpse of Boehner's "issues", visit: http://www.fojb.com/Issues/Default.aspx Sounds like a PR pamphlet straight from the White House.

32. Thank GOD they didn't elect Shadegg; now we know the '06 elections will be
against the "business as usual" Reptiles. Shadegg may have pushed for actual ethics reforms and completely changed the landscape of the '06 elections so it's a good thing the elected a crook instead.

34.  Paine on Rejection of Shadegg
Clearly, the rejection of John Shadegg by his colleagues in the House is welcome news. His fellow-Republicans have resoundingly said that they do not believe he has the leadership to reform the Party and the Congress. They understand that he is part of the problem, notwithstanding his efforts to distance himself from the Abramoff scandal and his feeble claim to be "less tainted" than others caught up in the scandal. John Shadegg and Tom DeLay played on the same team. Shadegg voted with DeLay 92% of the time, took thousands in cash from DeLay's PAC, received thousands from Abramoff, and voted twice to make sure that a crackdown on ethics violations never got an up or down vote. Then, in an opportunistic conversion after DeLay's demise, he became a "reformer." The ploy didn't pass the "smell test," and his fellow Republicans saw through it. His involvement in the culture of corruption and his extremist positions make him ill-suited to lead the House. It is a major defeat and embarrassment for him. I expect that the voters of Arizona's 3rd Congressional District will see it the same way.

I'm Herb Paine and I'm running to unseat John Shadegg. The stakes are high in this race, and I need your help. www.paineforcongress.org.

What about his involvement in the Ohio mess with Ney etc?

I think it would be quite amusing if the Pubs had to see yet another leader step down because of corruption!!!!!
