I just punked Bill Donahue's Catholic League and Catholic Answers.

From my Blog.

Just as an experiment, I did this. If you want my sources and hyperlinks, go to my blog at the bottom.

Freepers of the world are crying that "this Bush nominated another David Souter." They are calling him a "pro gay, America hater." Sad thing is, Alito is Catholic. The official Catholic stance on the death penalty, according to the Catholic League and Catholic Answers, is that the Church is against all forms of capital punishment. Alito was the deciding vote in a case about a Missouri man who was to be executed. Whoops! It seems he is a true Catholic, not like John Roberts and Antonin Scalia who voted to have the man executed.

Remember in 2004 when the Catholic Church screamed anyone who voted for Kerry because he was pro-choice would be excommunicated. According to Catholic Answers:

1. The 5th commandment: Thou Shalt Not Kill means Thou shalt not murder. It's up to every indvidual state to decide whether or not to execute someone. Following that logic, Rome was justified in executing Jesus Christ.

2. Speaking of Jesus Christ, where in the New Testament does it say that Jesus believes that capital punishment is not inherently immoral? Chapter and Verse please. . .I'm Jewish.

3. According to Catholic Answers, the Church only deals in faith and moral issues, not political issues. . .then why does the Catholic Church have official political position on the death penalty?

4. The lady then quoted me writing from Bishops and Cardinals. . .but why are their writings more important than Jesus and the Pope (who is against Capital Punishment).

5. The Catholic League stated the Pope only states his opinion and is not the final arbitor on Catholic policy and each Catholic is a free agent. So, why does the Church have a pope? And explain to me why the Church threatened to excommunicate anyone who voted for Kerry in 2004?

It seems the Catholic Church makes up its Dogma as it goes along, the Pope is meaningless, Thou shalt not kill is subjective to who does the killing, the practices and teachings of Jesus are secondary to Church official and everyone is free agent, so long as they agree with Catholic policy. If they don't, they are excommunicated? Am I missing something?

Oh, yeah. . .I'm Jewish. I'm going to hell (which Jews don't believe exists) anyway. Wow. . .what a mixed ball of bullshit the Catholic Church is.

It is so easy to punk these people, and it's fun for the whole family.

1. Couldn't have said if better myself, if I still cared, which I don't
not after all these years since I fled at the age of 10 when I realized that the only places for women in the church were either cleaning it or as serving as a convenient scapegoat for all the sins of men.

Most Catholics are good people, and tend to be quite a bit more liberal than their Protestant counterparts. I have no problem with them. I just can't stand their hierarchy, none of it, from the kindly parish priest who knuckles under on abortion and birth control up to the pope, himself.

Anyway, Mark Twain said it best, "Heaven for the climate, Hell for the conversation."
