(Hillary) What's more important, the battle or the war?
I'm probably older than many of you. I have lived through Viet Nam. I was filled with the enthusiasm that only comes with youth. Not any more. Now, I'm a realist.

Which brings me to my point. Hillary...

What is more important, Hillary getting the nod, or getting one of us into the White House?

What, exactly, makes Hillary the right choice? Does she have experience? Not really. Hillary is a carpetbagger, choosing the NY Senate as a springboard for a presidential bid. Is Hillary a good Senator? I believe she is. Is she qualified to serve as Commander in Chief? Who knows. She has no real record to speak of. Maybe she would be the best choice. If she got the nod, I would vote for her.

But that's not the point.

Take a good look at how the GOP marketed the chimp. It was fucking brilliant. FUD. A guy you can have a beer with. Factor in the swift boating and the Bush campain was well crafted to appeal to Joee Six-Pack and the average, braindead middle-American voter.

And it worked. (Well, not really. Asswipe lost in '00 and who knows what really happened in '04)

Take a look at recent Democratic Presidents Carter and Clinton. What one thing do these two have in common?

They are "Good Old Boys". Southerners.

All that "Senator from Mass." shit that the chimp pulled resonated with a large percentage of the voting public. It's truly a fucking shame, but shit like that works.

Me, I would vote for Obama in a minute, but the country is about as ready for a Person of Color as they are for a woman named Clinton.

If it was Hillary vs. McCain do you *really* think Hillary would win?

If we're serious about taking back the White House it's time to look at the facts and put idealism in the closet for a bit. We need a candidate the country can bond with, and I don't believe that person will be Hillary.

OK, you're thinking. So who would *you* support? I know...

People are positining themselves for their presidential bids. I haven't heard enough yet to make a decision, but I'm hoping that a candidate that can really bond with the American public gets the nod.

So what some call "Hillary Bashing", I call realism.

2. Were you better off now or 8 years ago with Clinton as president?
The average person understands that.

3. She is the inevitable
That is the frame. If we frame that - and quit saying she cannot win - then the populus will understand that she is destined to the the next President. In 2000 that is what *'s campaign did successfully. He was consistently considered the inevitable even when he was falling behing at the end.

4. The average person understands what?
What you state is an oversimplification.

Does the average person realize this? Evidently not. Shithead got re-elected. Besides, the average voter is not going to pull the lever with this in mind. Yeah, Hillary will be better than the chimp, but honestly, who wouldn't be better than the chimp? (except maybe Santorum)

What the voter will see (for example) is McCain on one side, and Hillary on the other. Who would you bet on?

5. I'll vote for the best candidate in the primary.
Because of some really dubious positions she's taken, I doubt it will be Hillary. I'm not going to vote for the person I think is "most electable": that shit never works. When I see who rises to the surface and declares their intentions, I'll make a decision.

Then I will vote for the winning Democrat in the election. (I would only consider voting Green under extreme circumstances.)

Why waste time pumping up Hillary or bashing Hillary until we see who is actually running???

7. Clue in to reality....
She has no experience?.........you do realize she was the brains behind Bill Clinton getting into the White House in the first place don't you? I'd vote for her in a New York minute (pun intended).

Don't dismiss Hillary as someone the country "can't bond with"......she has purposely moved towards the middle just so she can "bond with" the average American......just like Bill did.

The Republicans are smart enough to be very afraid of her running, because they realize the popularity Bill had and understand that he had what it takes to get elected. Hillary has it too and is going to need the support of us all to kick the Republicans to the curb. Unless a miracle happens and a Democrat appears on the horizon with "what it takes to win" (which at this moment I don't see happening).....I'll support Hillary all the way.......and I'm far left of her, but smart enough to realize "she has what it takes to win"....brass balls ........which by the way too few Democrats have these days.

9. She's got plenty of experience.
She's plenty qualified. She was as involved in the Clinton administration as Al Gore was; that's a fact.

That's beside the point, to me. For me, it comes down to Iraq. I believe Sen. Clinton will expand the current occupation. I want someone who will end it. That's what it boils down to for me. I won't vote for Sen. Clinton in the general election; I'll go third party before I vote for another BFEE enabler.
