You have the right....
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you can not afford and attorney, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?

This is our bill of rights now.

4. Nope, that's too much
You have the right to remain silent. Doing so could mean torture or rendition, but that's your choice. You have the right to an attorney, at your own expense, if we think you need one. Your location may or may not be revealed to your attorney. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?

8. The top line is from an ad on a blimp in BladeRunner
The bottom line is a saying in Creole that I added after Katrina. It translates roughly as, "The Cemetery, oh it is full of people. Baron asks if all those people are there by God's will?"

7. These rights are not generally read to people arrested in
SF county.

Before I got him a real doc, Doug used to go into paranoid states and dial 911, tell them that I was a threat to him or that I was violent. The cops would come and arrest me on his report, and I'd be out in less than 24 hours -- after signing that form that says you were just "detained" and not "arrested".

No one ever read me my rights, not one. single. time.

This probably happened at least 5 times before the PD got a clue. That, and my wholly virgin record before I married someone with undiagnosed mental illness. Long story short, Doug has the care he needs and the PD and I have kissed and made up.

But this arresting people in sloppy ways happens every day. Fyi.
