My book came out this week.
Strange, in a way, the way some can mistake implications and yet hit others on the nose, isn't it??

I wrote of WWII, of a time when participants really could blame the times for their actions. They didn't. Oh, dear God, what comes when these kids have to jusitfiy their actions.

How sad.

Joe

2. Congratulations, Joe. I also had a book and it was a
very intense experience.

The kids will make it somehow. We will help them.

All best to you,
Beth

10. Sure.
It started for me by 1999. It has been so many years now.

It occurred to me then and more so every year - if you didn't grow up with the lessons, they meant nothing. And I understood our fathers and grandfathers - they were dieing, and the stories - they were going to die with them. They were trying to tell us something.

And I swore, I wouldn't let them die - TOO important. 55 or 60 million people died, you know??

So it became a project to me.

We can't let the stories die - we can't. The day those stories die, so do we. They knew lessons we must learn to survive. They understood, it was an atomic world they left behind them - there is no more room for error.

It is about duty conflicting with morality - It really is. And I doubt any of us could possibly come away from the stories our fathers told us and doubt that.

We better win this fight thats coming - cause I think we were the only ones that "got it".

9. I think some of us, maybe many of us grew up around war.
Mom and Dad were officers in the ETO. My three older brothers went to Vam and my kid went to Iraq.

War sort of went around me.

Anyway - "On a wing and Prayer" - Memories of a fight pilot and a Nurse in WWII.

Xlibris press. FMJ Pacheco.

It is funny, in a way - and so sad - Because I know, if we asked the vets that went to fight Hitlers Germany I know what they'd say. I knew them. I grew up with them. They'd say - "You have no f-cking idea what war really means. WE fought to keep our kids away from war. What the hell are you doing??"

So, I collected the stories to pass them on. So many years. I know just how important such lessons are -I know many of us grew up with these lessons.

I do not understand - why did we learn and they didn't - WHY??

It is why I wrote the book.

Maybe it will do some good. Maybe.

Joe

I KNOW that is what they say. I know.
