Bush Reveals Plan To Create Reliable Energy Supply For Florida

POSTED: 5:41 pm EST February 2, 2006

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush has unveiled his plan to help create a reliable energy supply for Florida's future, and it would make it easier to get permits for building nuclear power plants.

The governor said he wants to expedite the permitting process for building nuclear power plants because the current system takes ten years or longer. He called that unacceptable.

The governor said the last two hurricane seasons have shown the state's electric and fuel supplies are vulnerable to disruptions.

So he's promoting the "2006 Florida Energy Act," which he said encourages conservation and focuses on diversifying the state's energy sources.

7. Suicide Bombers!
I always suspected spring break was a cover for terrorist activities!

And here I thought "getting bombed" had to do with alcoholic beverages!
