Pat Robertson at it again: Wants Chavez taken out...
During the February 2 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, Christian Coalition founder and 700 Club host Pat Robertson reiterated his call for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

COLMES: Should Chavez be assassinated?

ROBERTSON: Well, one day he's going to be aiming nuclear weapons; and what's coming across the Gulf isn't going to be Katrina, it's going to be his nukes.

COLMES: Would you feel better going back to the original comment that if he were assassinated, the world would be a safer place?

ROBERTSON: I think South America would. He is -- he is -- got hit squads. He's a very dangerous man.

COLMES: So, you're not taking back the comment. You believe assassination of Hugo Chavez would be in the best interests of the world.

ROBERTSON: Well, rather than going to war. One day, we're going to have to go to war, I'm afraid, if he continues his policy, you know. But, I don't know. I wrote him a letter. I apologized to him.

COLMES: But, wait a minute. If you say you apologized to him, what you just said seems to contravene that, because you just now said --

ROBERTSON: I know. I know.

COLMES: -- you think it'd be better if he be assassinated.

..........

COLMES: Do you want him taken out?

ROBERTSON: Not now, but one day, one day, one day. My premise is, and I think as -- you know, until that comment came out, everybody thought Chavez was a fellow having to do with table grapes in California. Now --

HANNITY: I think one thing we could say is, the world would be better off without him where he is, because he is a danger to the United States.

ROBERTSON: Extreme danger.

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe,
Forward into battle see His banners go!

1. One fo these days ole Pat is gonna thunder from his pulpit
and point his finger in retribution and that stupid thing's gonna backfire.

Lord, I keep hoping they find that old reprobate in bed with a sheep.

5. If I were a religious person,
I would pray for a lightning strike in front of the congregation. I never wish for anyone's death, though, and many people survive lightning strikes. It would just be a nice touch from God.

32. I am a religious person, and if it weren't for this nagging feeling that
I should pray harm for others, I'd be with you in that prayer.

As it is, I just sort of quietly hope that he trips on the stairs and damages his voicebox or something.

7. You mean trolls or actual DUers?
And what the hell is it with Robertson and Chavez? Robertson couldn't even locate Venezuela on a map.

4. I wish they would have asked him what sins Cheney and Bush have committed
to piss off Pat's god. Cheney has had multiple heart attacks and Bush has also had numerous brushes (bike accident, pretzels, etc.) with his health. Doesn't this work both ways? I tried calling Pat and asking what Cheney and Bush have done to incur the wrath of his god but they would only put through to "prayer partners".

26. That's what they never explain
Chavez is a danger for selling poor American citizens cheaper heating oil? He's a danger for improving the lives of his impoverished people? He isn't nearly as dangerous as Bush and Cheney, so exactly what IS the danger he represents?

he has some pretty shady dealings in the poor parts of the world. What kind of exploitation is Chavez getting in the way of?

On a hunch, I think it's somehow tied to the World Bank.

12. Robertson, who once declared that someone should drop a nuke
over the United States States Department, should be behind bars instead of showing his satanic mug on television talk shows. For some reason, only rightwing nutcases are permitted to threaten other Americans with nuclear weapons and remain celebrities for the talk show circuit.

CIA, M15, Mossad. Doesn't he know that they kill more people through assassination in one year than Chavez has in his lifetime.

15. What a godly man Robertson is. He is advocating the murder...
of a world leader and his followers don't even blink. Hannity also goes along with what Robertson is saying. What is the danger to our country they have somehow conjured up regarding Chavez? I certainly don't feel threatened by a man who is merely trying to help the poor people of Venezuela (and there are more poor than not).

17. I have a message from the Lord for Pat Robertson
Pat, God just told me that you're a goat. Sorry, but them's the breaks.

"But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit on the throne of his glory. Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Then the King will tell them on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.'

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'

The King will answer them, 'Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'" (Matthew 25:31-46)

22. Notice how Hannity eggs him on...
COLMES: He's very popular with his country.

ROBERTSON: Well, yes and no. But he does --

HANNITY: He's building up weapons against the United States, isn't he?

---and---

ROBERTSON: Not now, but one day, one day, one day. My premise is, and I think as -- you know, until that comment came out, everybody thought Chavez was a fellow having to do with table grapes in California. Now --

HANNITY: I think one thing we could say is, the world would be better off without him where he is, because he is a danger to the United States.

ROBERTSON: Extreme danger.

I think this is great. Robertson was pretty well vilified for his previous comments even by RWers. Now, Robertson again proves he's a loon by reiterating those comments after apologizing for them and it lets the audience know that Hannity is as crazy as he is by aligning himself with Robertson.

25. Pat is just doing the Republicans dirty work for them - he will be paid
off with some monster mega "church" somewhere in the southern hemisphere or another gold mine.

As I have posted before - look into the International Republican Institute chaired by John McCain and you will see that Pat is spouting their doctrine word for word.

This is the Republican plan for distraction in 2006.

27. This shit cracks me up - why would Venezuela EVER attack the United States
In fact, we have not been directly attacked by another nation since WWII. In the entire history of our nation, we have only been attacked on a small handful of occasions! Does Pat Robertson or anyone else really think that Venezuela is going to attack the United States because he disagrees with our policies? Even if the US became a completely fascist nation - without any pretext of freedom - I still don't see where any countries would attack us without provocation.

extra chapter in which the tenets of the faith are renounced in favor of state-sponsored murder.

I wonder if he had to pay extra for it.
