ABCNews: WSJ reporter turns in pen, takes up sword (joins Marines)
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 09:34 PM by Psephos
Jan. 1, 2006 — Matt Pottinger was a reporter, but he's no longer so sure that the pen is mightier than the sword.

The 32-year-old former Wall Street Journal reporter has joined the U.S. Marines.

"The life of a reporter versus the life of someone in the military — it is a radical departure," he mused.

Hmmm. Whatever else one might say, at least he's not a chickenhawk.

3. He's got stars in his eyes...
This guy does not seem to have a realistic idea of what he's signing up for.

4. I Read The First Few Grafs -- But Sorry, This Is Really Stupid
This fellow decided to join the Marines, for some reason completely beyond my ability to comprehend. I mean it. I don't understand.

Or as a shrink once told me: "You do understand." And that is the horror that lurks beyond my sensibility.

See, I like to say that I don't understand why people do bad stuff. But, the truth is that I do understand... very well. I just don't want to face up to it. I don't want to say that this guy is a complete and total asshole. I really don't want to say that.

10.  More of a fool than a hero-CIA plants reporters too!

MaYBE The pentagon spinmasters- Hills and Knowlton or the Rendron group can spin a story if he dies ? The way they did with Pat Tilman- football player, and Private Lynch.

By the way embedding journalists is pathetic- JOeseph Goebbels would smile- he always did borrow American marketing techniques perfected in the 1920's and would likely approve.

CIA- Operation Mockingbird- Church Senate Committee 1975- revealed that the CIA from 1947-1973 had over 4,000 contacts and even agents in the CIA- as former CIA chief WIllam Colby revealed before his strange death.

The Washington POst former editor Katherine HArris was CIA- and this is a credible newspaper?
ALL the big neworks- news Cable companies connected to defense industries or large corporations.

at least the internet stops the TOP DOWN distribution of information :patriot: illegal codesmilie_remote(':patriot:')
