4. I gotta admit...
I know Hillary has worked her butt of on health care reform in the 90s, but her acquiesence to El Diablo's whims and demands has probably doomed her campaign from the beginning.

Our party needs to move forward, not "forward into the past."

5. those hand gestures on MSNBC were so annoying. She needs a new coach.
whoever is giving her speech lessons is a moron.

Better yet, she should watch just how naturally her hubbie manages to control, entice and educate a crowd, as thugh he is being personally involved with each one of them. Not everyone can do that in the beginning, some need a lot of practice, and some can never learn it. But she looks and acts like a robot with bad programming.

I am sorry to say, that part of the race involves PR and selling your ideas and your candidacy. Her current approach will turn people off. Too artificial, too planned, too much "It is now time to raise your right hand. Now both hands right at tit level, NO palms up, not down. Now, slowly lower them and nod slowly."

30. Yeah, What's Funny Is
When my husband and I were on vacation last month, the hotel lobby had some news show on, I don't even remember who it was or which station, but they were talking about Hillary running.

And this so called expert was talking about Hillary's appeal to the most extreme left elements of the Democratic party. I was like, "what the f*%# is this guy talking about? The left elements don't like Hillary." It's the more conservative business types who do. Sadly, her "star power" and name recognition may prevent us from having a real primary. Although I hope not, I hope the activists volunteer efforts help the best candidate win.

Anyway, my husband and I also don't like the way she speaks. She seems very wooden, not genuine. we think Al Gore is a better speaker. Let her be a Senator, she does a good job at it.

if you want a woman president, take a look at Kansan Kathleen Selebius. I don't know much about her other than:
* She's won in an unabashedly red state without being a DINO. The same people who elected Sam Throwback, Uh, Brownback - elected her
* She's been named one of the nation's top governors by TIME magazine
* She's handsome. Looks shouldn't matter, but they do. Her looks won't be an issue because she isn't cute and she isn't ugly. Furthermore, just looking at her, she inspires confidence.

40. So much truth in this post.
There is no question that she has brains, organizational talent and lots of drive.

What the Hell wrong is there with being the Majority Senate leader for life? She would have power, control and the respect of millions for a decade. If she runs for president, there is a good chance that she won't get the nomination. There is an even better chance that she won't be elected even if she wins the primaries. Why deal with four years of crap and attacks, assuming that that very small chance comes through, knowing that as many people dislike her and mistrust her as those willing to give her a chance?

silly, shortsighted.

As Senate Majority leader, she'd be golden.

23. That sounds like my scenario, too
I supported John Kerry in 2004, even though his campaign was lackluster. I would much rather see a different frontrunner, but if Hillary Clinton gets the nomination, then she gets my vote. Not the Green candidate, not the Libertarian candidate, and definitely not the Republican candidate. Hillary. But once again, only if she's the last one standing.

11. Cindy Sheehan: "You say it or you're losing your job"
A blast from the past (September 19, 2005):

War protester Cindy Sheehan came to New York last night with a blunt warning for Senator Clinton: End your support for the war in Iraq or else.

Visiting New York City for the first time since leaving her campsite outside President Bush's vacation ranch in Crawford, Texas, Ms. Sheehan told a packed audience in a Brooklyn church that Mrs. Clinton "knows the war is a lie" but because of her political ambitions refuses to voice any opposition.

Mrs. Clinton is "waiting for the best political moment to say" she opposes the war, Ms. Sheehan said during a 15-minute speech. "You say it or you're losing your job," she said, provoking a roar of approval from the audience. Mrs. Clinton, believed to be a possible presidential contender in 2008, has said she supports the war in Iraq and has pushed for a greater troop presence in the country.

22. Is anyone really surprised? She has as
much right as anyone else to run for the presidency. We have many good people out there wanting to run. I have made no decision on whom to back. As far as voting for the Iraq invasion she probably believed what she was told about the WMD. She had an interview with John Roberts of CNN recently where he asked her about why she has not stated she regretted her vote. Her reply made me realize she is a heck of a lot smarter than she is given credit for. She said there are no do-overs. Once the vote has been taken, I think she meant, would anyone believe her if she said she regretted it. Of course she does regret it but just saying that will not change it. I have an open mind and will keep it that way until I hear from all would-be candidates.

24. Yes, I saw that comment she made to John Roberts,
It was said quietly and sincerely. She made a very good presentation of her former position on Iraq, and didn't look like a desperate flip floper as Kerry's did.

She's not my first choice, but two things about her winning would thrill me.
She would be the first woman president, and Bill Clinton would be back in the WH.

I also think that once elected, she would be a great president. Others, among those who have actually announced they're running, like Obama and Edwards, would also, but if she wins the nomination I'll be solidly behind her.

Hillary is too beholden to corporate America. She still hasn't figured out Iraq was a disaster. She's contemptuous of women who have traded careers for the tough job of raising kids and contributing to their communties. She completely f*cked healthcare reform under Bill.
And on top of it all, she's way too divisive--not only among Dems, but Repubs who can't stand her.

57. And Edwards isn't beholden?
I'd do some more research on him if I were you.

Start with Googling Edwards and Iraq War Support and then follow that with Edwards and Bilderberg.

Edwards is worse than Hillary, imo, because he tries to pretend he's NOT beholden to these people and tries sucking up to the Labor Unions. Ask some of his former constituents about how little he cared about them when he was senator.

I like Obama OK, but, I think Dems would do themselves a world of good if they started paying attention to the people the corporate media DOESN'T slam down our throats, like Kucinich, Clark, heck, even Gore (who only gets token mentions in the corporate media).

Everytime we go with who the media likes, we lose (or get it stolen because it's entirely too close). That should tell us something.

Yeah, COME ON, Any one of them is more electable, Clark, Obama, Edwards, Kerry, Biden AND SHE is the most pro-war of any of them. What more common sense do we need? Vote for someone that can actually take the White House and might actually end the war. Talk about no brainer. I wish the primary were tomorrow! I want to see her stomped.

Also Thanks Hillary SO MUCH, I can't want to hear about the issues. Ha ha. Two straight years of more of Bill Clinton's sex life (yeah that's not her fault I know) oh goody! She had a chance to be a GOOD senator for decades and instead she insists on more power. I wish she was the right woman at the right time. I so want a woman president. But I think she is the opposite for so many reasons. And the woman that gets the White House really should NOT have been married to a former president. It needs to come entirely from her own steam. She has that in the senate. But is it enough? HELL NO. ABH.

61. Was Chris Mathews high?
(Regarding that video)
Why was he going on and on about Hillary "putting basic women's rights with supporting the troops"...? And Mitt Romney has the "right hair to be president"?

That whole video was bizarre-not the least of it the actual statement. It had the feel of one of those cheap commercials for life insurance or something...
"Hi lets talk" (fake plastic smile), "We care about you" (fake plastic smile).

There is a specific low-rent commercial they play over and over here in TN, that it reminds me of.
Very strange.

62. Let's hope she's "in" for a brief visit and leaves early.
And, that a progressive Democrat stays around for a long and beneficial sojourn.

On Hillary running in '08 and Jeb running in '12 or '16:

"Now picture this: 4 years of Bush followed by 8 years of Clinton followed by 8 years of Bush followed by 8 years of Clinton followed by 8 years of Bush..."

"There's a pattern here..."

"...Aren't you the least bit bothered by... this oligarchical double helix..."

"It's time to widen the gene pool of candidates..."

"In my dreams, and by dreams I mean nightmares ... Chelsea is elected in 2024 ... setting the stage for George P. Bush in 2032 ... Chelsea marries George P. Bush ... and in glorious revolution a house of Republocrats rules indefinitely..."

But, seriously,

:wow:

:scared:

:wow:
