5. common cause between McVeigh & co & AQ ? |
|
among the many currents coming from the foilhead sites is alleged information that someone connected to the 9/11 hijackers had a connection to McVeigh & co. Working the scenario for a moment, one asks oneself, what for ? And comes up with at least one answer, that there was a sense of common cause between two groups that felt that mainstream western culture was a sloppy degenerated mess which needed "waking up". A little turgidity of a kind not supplied by Viagra, although many of its adherents now indulge in that as a substitute, a turgidity of the soul, was needed as a curative to too much good living and not enough invigorating asceticism.
Same shit, different millenium. They're right that the culture, or rather the society, is fucked up, but their solution is just more of the same. It's a quick fix to a problem which centers on individual laziness and greed. Asceticism and restraint aren't the answers to that, effort and choice are. We this to be true, they would just be shadows of what they oppose, as is so often the case in conflict situations.
