Religious intolerance. Still the #1 cause of violence and wars.
Looking at the reactions to those cartoons, you have to wonder if our cultures will ever be compatible.

1. Always has been; probably always will be
so long as people insist that their god is better than somebody else's god.

2. these gods
You'd think if these various gods had any interest in peace, they'd communicate with us in a completely clear, obvious way that not even a rationalist could deny. They'd tell us which one is in charge, which ones are real, which ones are fake, etc.

So either the various gods that are claimed to exist really like all the violence we're perpetrating against one another in their names, or they don't exist. I suppose it makes for good drama.

3. When people conduct their lives according to supernatural and
totally bogus values, disaster will always occur. Our problem is that the witch doctors are supporting the greedy corporate bastards as the wreck the world.

4. Solution: ban religion.
I know it isn't likely, but it sure would be nice.

11. Glad you think so. Thanks.
Actually I should say that brainwashing/religious indoctrination should be banned, especially when it is forced on little children. It's abuse pure and simple.

8. Maybe the "one true God" is schizophrenic and has yet
to enroll in the Big Pharma Medicare Bill?

Give that God his meds!

He wavers among the "true" religions too often. His subjects are weary of nodding their heads side-to-side as if in a tennis match.

Me? I am a measly pagan. Happy to rub a dog once in while....
