The US (Bush admin.) even sided with Iran on this one: "The department was responding to criticism that the U.S. had sided with Iran, Zimbabwe and other repressive regimes in excluding two gay rights groups the U.N. Economic and Social Council." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060204/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/rice_gay_rights

1. Isn't it good when enemies can find common ground? |

I can just imagine the following conversation at the UN:
Bolton: My government would like to state our opposition to these homosexual groups.
Iranian representative: You guys too? I had no idea we had this in common!
Bolton: Really? You guys hate fags too?
Iranian: You bet! We burn ours at the stake when we find them.
Bolton: Must be nice, too bad we can't do that. But we're working on it.
Iranian: Sweet. Say, wanna go get a cup of tea?
Bolton: Sure, I'd love to! Maybe you can give us some pointers on keeping them gays down.
Iranian: Let's go. I know a great place around the corner, they have some nice danishes also. Maybe we can talk about the nukes while we're at it!
Bolton: It's cool, you guys can just go ahead and build all the nukes we want. We never knew we had such a good friend in the Middle East?
Iranian: But what about your support of Israel?
Bolton: Israel? Fuck 'em, who needs those jew bastards anyways?
Iranian: Now you're talking, a man after my own heart.
(hug and fade away)
